  1. That statement alone should have triggered a red flag. I hate to see our members being ripped off. Good luck.
  2. We don't have ice except in coolers or marinating in whiskey! However, autumn marks the beginning of our best smallmouth fishing. I'm ready!
  3. Well now Professor...That is quite a piece. Thank you! :respect-040:
  4. Nice fish in your avatar! Welcome aboard!
  5. Don't spend any more money, fish what you have for now. With a little experience using your tackle, you will have a better idea on what you need to get in the future. It sounds to me that your stepfather can help, too.
  6. I guess I just don't "get" tournament fishing. Twenty fish might be all you need at Pittsburg, but if you fish a lake like Guntersville. it's going to take a few BIG fish to win. So why is it that the guys go after five keepers before they really start fishing? Why waste time with fish you hope to release. I don't get it.
  7. Well, I like the SR705R, but it is very "technique specific", For big, deep running lures like the DD22, it's THE BOMB!
  8. I have a dozen or so Devil Horses. I don't think I have fished one in a decade or more. Topwater for me is PopMax, Sammy, occasionally a Spook, Megastrike buzzbait, Rage Shad and the new Menace.
  9. I haven't paid attention to the details. Can someone explain the main issues? Also, I don't pretend to know "what's fair" in terms of compensation, but there is a HUGE pile of dough to be spread around! On a side note, the general public pays a hefty price to support this league. I don't think the NFL should be allowed to have their own network forcing fans to pay extra for televising games.
  10. I like the old and some of the new. Miranda Lambert and Sugarland come to mind. King George even plays around with some "country pop" on occasion. What I don't like about radio is our local (Memphis) stations play a lot of crap from 3-4-5 years ago that I didn't like then! Most of these songs never even made it to the Top 10. More disappointing is that these stations don't play what's hot and up-and-coming. On Sunday morning we get the Kix Brooks American Country Countdown. A few weeks ago I hadn't heard 4 of the top 10. Local radio sucks!
  11. Soft jerkbaits: spinning tackle Hard jerkbaits: baitcasting gear
  12. Get some KVD Line & Lure Conditioner and you will like the line even more!
  13. Great! I look forward to your review.

  15. Take a look at both the 1000 and 2500 Symetre. Take the rod you will be using with you to the store. Saddle them up and you will find what feels best. Both reels are great bass reels.
  16. Well, I have a lot of issues with braid, but the sensitivity is unbeatable on a tight line. I have Sufix 50 on the rig I use for weighted plastics, too. A third set-up is my Alabama Rig, 80 lb Sufix.
  17. I agree... Goodnight Irene. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  18. On my main jig rig I'm using 50 lb Sufix 832. Braided line has significantly improved my jig fishing. However, I use a different set-up for swimming jigs. On that rig I'm fishing #12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid.
  19. Small diameter braid will dig into the spool. I don't think you will like it on a baitcaster. If you want small diameter line, I am testing Yo-Zuri #6 on a Curado 50E and it's doing fine.
  20. Gamakatsu light wire hooks are what I use for weightless soft plastics.
  21. WOW! That's a great fish anywhere.
  22. Split ring for all hard baits
  23. Rage Tail Baby Craw, T-rigged 1/8 or 1/4 oz bullet weight, Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6
  24. 90% 3/0, 4/0, 5/0 or 6/0 EWG Offset Worm Hooks. Gamakatsu, Owner, Trokar, Moaner (Mustad) 10% 5/0 Gamakatsu Offset Round Bend
