  1. Forget about Rat-L-Traps, Red Eyed Shad RULE!
  2. Wow! I like them, too!
  3. Just a disposable reel. Next time buy a Shimano.
  4. Geez.... All the Revos have been hyped and disappointed. Now we have another candidate for entry in the "Loser" class. Did Curiosity take them to Mars for production?
  5. Let's face it, there are 32 teams and less than 10 guys that "belong" in the NFL. 22 teams have "filler" quarterbacks. These are my BEST: #1 Tom Brady #2 Aron Rogers #3 Drew Brees #4 Eli Manning #5 Peyton Manning Who do you think counts?
  6. MODERATOR NOTE: Using or "referencing" the F word is ABSOLUTELY prohibited on this forum and everyone knows that. Please refrain now and in any future post. We are a "Family Friendly" website. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  7. Good to see you here, we miss your commentary. I know you are particularly fond of the Pixy, but I was under the impression that your "overall" preference was Shimano.
  8. #6 Hybrid on spinning tackle, especially weightless soft plastics (11.9 lb breaking strength). #12 Hybrid on baitcasting gear in general. For grass, lilly pags, jigs and weighted soft plastics I'm fishing Sufix 832 braid, 50 lb test.
  9. We have lots of guys that fish Quantum, but I think there are much better alternatives at every pricing point.

  11. The Keitech Swing Impact Fat is one heck of a swimbait!
  12. Besides fishing, jigs are fun to collect. I have several NorthStar styles. My favorite right now is their new Flip & Swim Jig, especially Sexy Shad! Siebert Outdoors produces very high quality jigs and will custom build just about anything you want. I think I have some of every style he makes, but the Big O is my favorite.
  13. The World Record Smallmouth and #2 were caught at Dale Hollow. Smallmouth in the Mid South tend to be significantly larger than those in norther waters. In the north, numbers of fish can be HUGE which is certainly an advantage, but most of the monsters are Rebels!
  14. C'mon, I'll bet you are a "collector" or have been at some point. You've mentioned some pretty pricey cars that you have owned over the years. $20-$30,00 cars are common, but +/- $5000 wil get you from Point A to B. I don't think spending a few hundred dollars for a fine reel is unreasonable for an enthusiast. I don't catch more or bigger bass on my Calais or Stella, but I sure enjoy fishing them!
  15. Swim jigs. I recently "discovered" a combination new to me: 3/8 oz NorthStar Swim Jig (Sexy Shad)/ Rage Tail Eeliminator (Blue Glimmer).
  16. Like Goose52, most of my fishing other than heavy jigs, weighted soft plastics and treble hooks is on medium power/ fast action rods. This includes both casting and spinning gear.
  17. The Rig will be back in play in a few weeks as the shad begin schooling in mass.
  18. Keitech Swing Impact Fat, Shadalicious, Hollow Belly and GYCB Swimming Senko
