  1. I'm not too jazzed about the Carrot Sticks. Here are my suggestions: Baitcasting: G. Loomis BCR854 for jigs and weighted sofy plastics St. Croix AVC70MM for treble hook lures Spinning: G. Loomis SJR843S St. Croix LES70MF
  2. Some specifics: Loss of bladder control: Kidneys may be shutting down General mental confusion Unable to groom themselves Shrinking of body mass, particularly around the hips Weight loss
  3. Most of my smallmouth fishing on the Tennessee River is with #4 Yo-Zuri Hybrid. The fish in my avatar were caught using this line. On the RoadTrip I caught a 7-7 largemouth on a Fat Ika and #4 Hybrid.
  4. I'm not sure what US version is comparable to the AR 2500, but I have the 1000 FA, 2500 FD and 2500 FE. The reels are sweet, I'm sure you will love yours!
  5. Moaner Hooks has come out with the Stick'r Rig, a version of the Jika rig. This is the perfect rig when the bite is on the bottom.
  6. You can duplicate this pattern on any Tennessee River reservoir.
  7. I consider Floroclear "unfishable" in any size. If you like P-Line, CXX #6 is fine.
  8. First of all, buy Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 which has a breaking strength of 11.9 lbs. Measure the drag setting to no more than 3 lbs.
  9. For enthusiasts, technique specific gear is fun to collect. However, three rigs cover all the basics: #1 6 1/2' or 7' MH baitcaster for jigs, some soft plastics and spinnerbaits #2 6 1/2' or 7' MM baitcaster for treble hook lures #3 7' MF spinning rod for lighter lures and a variety of techniques If you are fishing with one rod, I would recommend the MF spinning rod
  10. The cold front shut down the shallow bite or we just couldn't find it. We spent a few hours early fishing grass and shallow structure, but failed to find any takers. So, out we went. We marked two holes, 23' and 27' surrounded by a 14' bottom. The deeper hole was pretty small, the other about 20' X 30'. I caught the first fish "trolling" a GMAN Jig/ Lobster while we were still getting set up. All of our bass were caught dropping off the ledge. We caught nothing in the crevice nor coming up. Additionally, all of our fish were caught on the upstream ledge. Another specific note, at least on this day, the baits were dragged not hopped and all bites occurred while the baits were moving. 32 bass, mostly +/- 3 lbs, but no big fish. All of our fish were caught on jigs with a Lobsetr trailer and soft plastics (Rage Thumper, Anaconda, tubes and curly tail). -Kent
  11. Or throw it away and get yourself a MegaStrike Cavitron or two!
  12. We have a 17 year old cat named Boots. He is real close, but still goes out or uses the litter box without incidence. My daughter works part time as a veterinary assistant which includes putting down 3 or four animals a day. Boots is her cat even though he lives with me and my wife. The cat will be put down when my daughter decides it is time. That sure makes it easier for us. Ask your vet for some guidence. Random "accidents" would not be acceptable in our house.
  13. I still have a large stash of Paca Craws, but I don't think I have fished one in two or three years. Just for fun, try two bags of Rage Craws, Baby Craws or Lobsters. Post a review comparing them to the Paca Craws. If you still prefer the Net Baits, I'll send you a bunch for free.
  14. http://www.delawarevalleytackle.com/ I had two Curados supertuned a few months ago. The results are amazing!
  15. Heavy braid is the ticket. A BPS lure retriever is important, too. The retriever slides right over the top of The Rig. In still water we have had 100% recovery, but not quite so good in a raging river!
  16. I have found their customer service to be exceptional. Our ole friend, Dan Thornberg is a designer and head of Customer Service. If you have an issue with Shimano, contact him direct...Dan answers the phone!

  19. WOO-HOO! Man, those are some fine fish! :respect-059:

  21. Well now,,, Welcome aboard!
  22. The premise is pretty silly, but I'll play along... Let's start by funding the party. You are going to need a few $100K plus expenses for each of your pros, guaranteed. At least another $500K in prize money if it's "Winner Takes All". Next... The Big Boys are going to fish whatever is the best equipment their sponsors offer, plus the baits and lures they know. These will most likely be "brand names" verses your knock-offs and bargin bin junk. Now the pros don't necessarily target "big fish", but then again your 2-3 pounders don't really qualify anyhow. I call that size "tournament fish". Still, each of them will have five keepers in the first hour while you are still looking for a bite. Then they will start culling what would be your PB, from what I gather from your post. Your only chance of winning would be in a "Big Fish" format where you might just "get lucky". Otherwise, your chance of winning is ZERO.
  23. Be sure to remove the red meat (center line) completely.
  24. Spinning tackle: #6 .010" diameter, 11.9 lb breaking strength Baitcasting: #12 .012" diameter, 19.5 lb breaking strength If you mostly fish stained water, the purple smoke blends best. For gin clear water, green.
