The tube is an original "do nothing" lure. I was introduced in Arkansas. The classic presentation is to cast it out to whatever you consider a promising spot. Let the bait settle, light a smoke and pop a top. It's a Southern Thang.

Too light, too hard to cast. When I was a kid we trolled with them. I caught my first ever walleye on one. What an ugly fish I thought at the time.
