Braid ? Good ones ,and Bad ones !
I HATE braided line... I'm going to buy some Samurai for my jig rig.

Jig fishing equipment?
Braid can be used without a leader. I find the thin line to be pretty stealthy in most water, but may require a fluorocarbon leader in gin clear lakes. Although I don't like fishing with braid, I think it really helps with certain presentations.

Jig fishing equipment?
This should be your best rod. I recommend 7' MHF or HF. Although I HATE braided line, it will significantly improve your jig fishing. These are my rigs: G. Loomis GLX MBR 844C/ CTE100GT G. Loomis GLX BCR 854/ Curado CU200E7 8-)

Mop Jigs?
So far, perfectly! As far as hooks go, I am a huge fan of Gamakatsu, Owner, VMC and XPoint. More recently, I have found Mustad to be a fine hook, too. Take a look at Moaner hooks which are customized Mustad: http://www.moanerhooks.com/

My PB Smallmouth
With eight floodgates open and water release at 95,000 cfs, the fishing will be great if we can get a break in the weather. We tried again Sunday morning, but with 15 mph wind and temperatures in the 20s it was a no-go. I'm just glad we got in a little on Saturday!

Trouble in Cville.
The Tennessee River is on fire! With eight floodgates open, the water release is about 95,000 cfs, 24/7. Great current throughout the system. Whether you prefer the lake side or river, brown fish or green, get down there if you can.

Mop Jigs?
GMAN Jigs are another great option. I had some 3/4 oz football heads custom made with TroKar hooks and copper wire wrap. I fish them with a Rage Tail Lobster for the trailer. This is a BIG presentation!

OK, enough about booze and drugs. Any coffee lovers out there?
Try Community Coffee Dark Roast at home. Otherwise, McDonalds has a great cup and Dunkin' Donuts, too!

The mother of all polls. Daiwa, Abu, BPS, Pflueger, Penn or Shimano?
Surprising.... Shimano usually gets 59% or more of the total vote in these polls. :

What are good rod actions for topwater and for jerkbaits?
Avid AVC66MF which has a soft tip. This is the PERFECT rod for the applications you are interested in.

Walleyes on lures?
I have had the best luck with LC Pointers, but my guide at Bull Shoals (Tim "Hot Dawg" Curtis) throws Rogues exclusively. At any rate, jerkbaits rule!

Touche'! The STX is still "in training".

Scratch Norfork Lake and Bull Shoals off the list. You will freeze your rear off in north central Arkansas in February and won't get a bite!
