My suggestion is an Avid AVC66MF or AVC70MF. Line = Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12 Monofilament, fluorocarbon and copolymer lines of equal diameter will all cast about the same. 8-)

Well, I think there are better options. On the cheap side, Trilene 100% is okay (3rd generation Vanish). I have been impressed with Seaguar InvizX #8 on spinning tackle, AbrazX #12 on baitcasting gear. 8-)

I like round reels better than low profiles for several purposes and techniques. I have three: CTE200GT for deep diving crankbaits; CTE100GT for weighted soft plastics; CTE200GT for my striper rig. 8-)

Most Tennessee water is "stained". Visibility varies a lot, but 4-6' is fairly common. "Muddy" to me means "after heavy rain". For the most part, muddy = nothing works! This is especially true in the winter. The Gitzit works anywhere, all the time, at any depth. It's not always the best choice, but always an option. I prefer rigging with an inserted weight, Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook (thin wire) and Yo-Zuri #6 fished on spinning tackle. This bait was designed to "do nothing". However, over the years a number of presentations have developed. Sit and do nothing; dragged; hopped and lifted are most common. Another VERY effective option is C-rigged. 8-)
