  1. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. If you are in a low area potentially threatened by storm surge, plan your escape options now. Good luck!
  2. A simple explanation is a material with more than one component. For example, Yo-Zuri Hybrid is a bonded, not coated, blend of nylon and fluorocarbon strands. Individually, a type of nylon is extruded to create a monofilament line. A copolymer is comprised of two (or more) different components. http://www.yo-zuri.com/01_products/14_yo_zuri_fishing_lines/04_yo_zuri_hybrid/yo_zuri_hybrid.html 8-)
  3. Heavier lures, exceeding a rod's rating, should be cast by "lobbing" your rod, like a cast in slow motion. Allow the rod to fully load on the backswing, then project the entire blank forward. DO NOT flick the tip of the rod like a lot of us do with spinning tackle. 8-)
  4. Try slowing it down: Be the Bug! Imagine a crawdad crawling over a rock and hiding. After a minute the bug moves another few inches, but always stops if it runs into something. :
  5. Geez! Those are some beauties.
  6. No issues...2 on, four off. Cast control basically off, just enough to prevent "wiggle". This will either be your favorite reel or one of them! I have mine mounted on a Dobyns 683C, but previously on a MBR842C. Medium Light to Medium Power is the point. This is a great reel for weightless soft plastics and medium weight hard lures. 8-)
  7. For me, it means casting out and having a smoke. moving the bait a couple of times over the next ten minutes and having another smoke. With "finesse" presentations, one cast is a 5-10 minute adventure! ;D ;D
  8. Slug-Go or LFT Live Magic Shad 8-)
  9. I would suggest keeping an eye on our Flea Market and picking up a Citica. 8-)
  10. This is my rig: MBR844C/ STX/ PP 50/12/ 1/2 oz egg sinker/generic swivel/ 18-24" Tatsu #15/ #2 or #4 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hook (sometimes 4/0 EWG Gami Offset Worm Hook). My favorite current bait is the Rage Tail Eeliminator. 8-)
  11. I have been fishing a 57 acre public pond in Collierville. Numbers are good, but I haven't caught a 5+ in two weeks. I'll be fishing Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. If you want to tag along, send me a PM. -Kent http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1281318127
  12. I have been using the Moaner hooks, too. Their design preserves the bait. A few weeks ago I caught ~40 bass on a single 7" Thumper. I think you'll like them fishing most soft plastics. This weekend I plan to fish the Eeliminator on a Moaner 4/0 weighted hook. The rigging looks perfect and the action might be just what you're looking for! 8-)
  13. In addition to the current thread running (referenced above) we have "a little" discussion saved in the Senko Section in the top portion of this section: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1121527643 This thread is closed. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  14. Exact weights are not important. Rod lure ranges are guidelines. As long as your estimated weight is "close" there should be no issue regarding the equipment. 8-)
  15. Mono or copolymer backing saves money, too! You don't need more than two casting lengths of braid. Tie something on and cast it out in your yard. Walk to the lure releasing line and cut it off. Add braid at that point. I use a Blood Knot to connect the lines because it is small, but anything will do. 8-)
  16. Best application for me is C-rigged. *** carries the entire line of Rage Tail baits: http://www.***.com/softbaitbrand.html?ccode=STRIKE

We will look into it, I had the warning pop up, too. -Kent
  18. They are the same. This is a fact, not an opinion. -Kent
  19. Unless you are looking at a "trade school", two year colleges are not going to get you anywhere. Go to a four year college and get your degree. 8-)
  20. My PB (largemouth) was fooled by a Norman Fat Boy. 8-)
  21. Sometimes color makes a big difference, but most of the time, your favorite color will be just fine. I like "dark". 8-)
  22. You go girl! Not lake specific, but the Rage Tail Baby Craw (naked or as a jig trailer), 7" Thumper, Fat Ika and the new MegaBug have been killin' it for me. Good luck! ;D ;D ;D
  23. Welcome aboard! 8-)
