Rod types
This might help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 This is something to consider as you build your collection over time: Technique specific rods are for "enthusiasts". Almost all your fishing can be done with just one rod. Beyond that, you only "need" three rods: Spinning: 6 1/2' or 7', M or MH, Fast Action (soft plastics and light lures) Baitcasting: MH or H, Fast Action (jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and all single hooks) Baitcasting: MH, Moderate Action (all treble hook lures)

I have been fooling a few monsters on Mattlures Baby bass, especially early. A couple of weeks ago on the first cast! That was an eye-opener. ;D ;D

jigs with 5/0 hooks
If you haven't tried these jigs, do yourself a favor and order a dozen. Also, pick up a pack or two of the new MegaBug to go with the Evo II. This combo is KILLER! 8-)

Constantly changing baits will increase your catch
I like to have several rods rigged with different lure classes. Generally, I fish one only for 15-30 minutes before moving on.

When does color matter the most and least??
Color can be very important on some lakes, sometimes. Big O told it this way, "When your fishing is "good", the right color might make it better." 8-)

Trokar hooks?
I fish several brands, but decided to try the Trokar 5/0 EWG on some custom made 3/4 oz GMAN Mop jigs. Just got them last week, so it's too early to comment on durability. However, I will say these are BY FAR the sharpest hooks I have. 8-)

Strike King Smokin Rooster
Well, since I fish every Rage Tail bait, it's hard for me to pick a favorite! For anyone that hasn't fished the Smokin' Rooster, you're cheating yourself. This is one of the most versatile soft plastics I have ever fished. 8-)

jig colors
I would have bet $100 your choice would be black! When did white come into play? Black = bugs; white = baitfish. Maybe I'm confused!

Chillin on the Beach for Nine Days(Hawaii)
Be careful...There are reports of "wardrobe malfunctions" on some of the 2010 swimsuits. It seems that eliminating the back bottoms has caused some functional degeneration in top support. Stay alert! 8-)
