Geez... Seems harsh to me, I like bashing Floogers. I own an Abbadabbadoo and fished a Fuego recently. Surprisingly, I have grown into the STX and ghoti's Diawa was fabulous after he supertuned it himself. Maybe just suggesting that we all be "positive" is the better idear. As momma said, "If you ain't got somethin' nice to say, STFU!" I don't always follow that line myself.

You need a new reel and it should be 2500 series for bass. Stradic 2500FI will cost $100-$120. Our Flea Market has some great deals on rods. I suggest matching your new reel to a St. Croix Avid, AVS68MXF or AVS70MF. Either of those should come to you +/- $120. 8-)

Because you can feel the lure, every contour and each rock or limb. Some guys claim they feel the fish as it approaches. At any rate, if you are going to become a dedicated crankbait fisherman, the equipment is key. For occasionally throwing a Rat-L-Trap, anything will do. 8-)

It was LBH. ;D ;D ;D ;D p.s. A few months ago I had a rod delivered to the office. Our mail box was a few inches short, but the didn't stop USPS from making delivery! Fortunately, the rod was flexible enough to survive.

Generally: 2500 For light applications (white bass, crappie, stocker trout) the 1000 is fine. I have a Stella 1000FA saddled on an Avid AVS66MLF which is nice. All my other spinning reels are 2500. 8-)

Almost all your fishing can be done with just one rod. Beyond that, you only "need" three rods: Spinning: 6 1/2' or 7', M or MH, Fast Action (soft plastics and light lures) Baitcasting: MH or H, Fast Action (jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and all single hooks) Baitcasting: MH, Moderate Action (all treble hook lures) 8-)

Well, I have some of these rods. For most medium weight crankbaits, AVC70MM is everything you want. Later you might consider the Avid AVC66MF. This rod has a soft tip and is ideal for working topwater and jerkbaits. Your worm rod can also be your jig rod. I have a BCR854 and MBR844C which are very similar, but I lean towards the MBR without the recoil guides. Although I don't own one, everyone says the BCR893 is the ultimate Senko rod. On my local ponds, one 5+ every 1 1/2 hours on average. Big water is completely different. One or two per trip would be fine! My best day ever on the Tennessee River was in January, 2005: fifteen smallmouth, eight over 5 lbs. The following Saturday I caught the fish in my avatar.
