  1. I'm very happy with the Curado 200E7. I consider this reel the "Best Buy" in the Shimano baitcasting line-up. If you are looking for a spinning reel, I think the CI4 is a "Best Buy", too! 8-)
  2. Spinning tackle: #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft Baitcasting gear: #12 Hybrid 8-)
  3. Geez... They don't grow that big around here. Truly, outstanding.
  4. Hmm... http://www.southeasternoutdoors.com/outdoors/fishing/articles/smallmouth-world-record-controversy-hayes.html 8-)
  5. I have both and prefer the feel (size) of the 50MG7. p.s. If anyone would like to swap a 50 for my 100, let me know. My reel is better than 10/10 both cosmetically and mechanically. It was professionally serviced this spring, "just because", but it is basically brand new! 8-)
  6. Another suggestion: 3.5" Live Magic Shad as a trailer for the Swarming Hornet: http://www.sworminghornetlures.com/index.asp?listname=Products/Ordering&listid=74&task=inside&articleid=139 8-)
  7. Spinning: SJR843S/ 2500 CI4 or Stella 2500FD if price is not important Baitcasting: MBR842C/ Core 50MG7 ;D ;D ;D
  8. The Rattlin' Vibe is a must have! 8-)

Geez...this is what Hell is really like...
  10. Hmm...I missed the humor... Wasting 3:30 minutes of my life is okay, but what was the point?
  11. 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook; skirt forward; weightless and weedless. 8-)
  12. GYCB Kreature rigged skirt forward, weedless, 1/8-1/4 oz bullet weight. Let the bait fall to desired depth or until it hits an obstruction or the bottom. Retrieve steadly with an occasional twitch, just like you would fish a spinnerbait. Be careful, you might get your arm broken! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180909581 8-)
  13. Nice fish, great story and fine pics! CONGRATULATIONS!
  14. After several years of negotiations, Bass Pro Shops have entered into a lease agreement with the City of Memphis for the Pyramid. This facility is a landmark in the Mid South, located in downtown Memphis on the eastern bank of the Mighty Mississippi! We are looking forward to hosting the home of Bass Pro Shops premier store. WOO-HOO! Welcome home. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2010/jun/30/bass-pro-shops-sign-lease-memphis-pyramid/ 8-)
  15. Two of our sponsors offer great products: JJ's Magic http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/bass-fishing-jjs-magic.html MegaStrike http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/Fish-Attractants/ Try them and see what you think!
  16. Nice fish!
  17. Agreed...You will not miss a "bite", but you might be getting bumped. The bump is light, the bite is not. Set the hook on the bite, not the bump. The issue I had, which Matt personally addressed, was losing fish during the fight. You don't "play" a bass, you reel it in! It is either pulling drag or moving your way. 8-)

For those that don't care, this morning's match was perfect...Nothing for three hours, then free kicks for the win...
  19. This is what's working for me right now: #1 Rage Tail Baby Craw, 2/0 or 3/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook, 1/8 oz bullet weight, #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid on spinning tackle. #2 3/8 oz GMAN jig, Baby Craw trailer, #12 Hybrid on baitcasting gear. #3 Bandit 200 series #4 Swarming Hornet, LFT Live Magic Shad trailer #5 River2Sea frog I expect to bring the Rage Tail 10" Anaconda and Thumper into the mix soon. For a BIG presentation, GMAN 3/4 oz Mop jig, RT Lobster. One more suggestion, especially for bigger fish, Mattlures Baby Bass. Good luck!
  20. Medium Power/ Fast Action with a soft tip. Specifically: Avid AVC66MF/ Shimano Scorpion 1000. 8-)
  21. You will be surprised and very pleased. Three specific comments: (1) fish hold a bait longer; (2) MegaStrike lubricates the lure/ bait and (3) this product is VERY user friendly! 8-)
