back in the day when i was 10 or so me and my friends would ride bikes to the farm ponds all around us it was no trouble catching 100+ bass each a day on beetle spins so beetle spins get my vote for most bass and they also worked on yellow perch and white perch same days.i have a advantage where i live i can go from a farm pond to brakish water most places i fish with just a few feet from each other.

im teachin my wife she dont care for them muchbut my son 6 and my daughter 7 both can cast a BC they prefer to fish with spinning reels though my son and daughter are ambidextrious and my son uses a lefty bc but likes the spinning reel a righty .so they really confuse me when we go to fish

i make my kids wear a pfd even walking on piers .i wear a pfd all the time on my yak and i also hook up the kill switch line while operating a boat.i can swim like a fish ,,when im swimming but when im boating yaking im there to fish and move and anything can happen,i have 2 kids to feed and 3 grandkids to grow up with .i dont want to be talked about yrs from now ' dad drowned didnt have his pfd on ',if im goin out and im in the water its gonna be from the 10 foot bull shark i hooked in the potomac that pulled me from point lookout to dc in 2 hrs .with battle scars and he is gonna die too lol

i clean my reels on a need to clean basis .that could be a few days a week or a few times a month depends on the water . and always deep clean them in winter . i do oil and clean level wind after each trip and also spool bearings about once a week.that bein said i havent cleaned a few of my round reels in yrs .all depends on the water im fishing.to get teh best performance out of any reel always check that levelwind one tiny little peice of dried algae or dirt can cause chaos

I think it covers up the negative smells.it may inhance the bite but i think i enjoy sniffin them more then the fish who knows.i do know things they eat have a smsmell.since its not costly to have a scent spray why not.i like gulp,powerbait,and manns.sprays i like to use baitmate and yum and i have a tube of fs454 made by manns that smells like it did 25 yrs ago mmmmmm
