  1. Take the side plate off and try to reseat the spool.
  2. Magic Erasers did the trick. Rod looked brand new. Hopefully the sealant helps with pitting like I have had with other cork handles.
  3. I sent my Tatula 100 in for service as well. I had a grinding issue and it was because the thumb bar was not fulling engaging when reeling. The second issue I had was the drag was not working. Even fully locked down I could pull line off by hand easily. Check the thumb bar and then just shell out the dough to get it fixed.
  4. Thanks everyone. Gonna pick up some magic erasers.
  5. Thanks a lot. Which would cause less harm to the cork?
  6. I'm looking to clean the cork on my fishing rod before I seal it. I fished with it for two days while I was waiting on the U40 to arrive. Well it got dirty in a couple spots and I was wondering what I could use to clean it?
  7. I need to start using backing instead of buying the 200 yd spool and just putting it on a single reel.
  8. I agree with everyone. I had an I series a few years ago and sold it then jumped on the Daiwa train. Just picked up a K a few days ago and its like night and day from the I series.
  9. Seaguar Abrazx is the best line Ive used. Can't justify jumping into the Tatsu price range yet.
  10. Wish I would have seen that a few days ago lol.
  11. I actually did the same along with Cajun Red line lol.
  12. I don't think it matters at all. Personally, I stick with the black or nickel chrome for confidence reasons. My dad uses red hooks and after fishing bottom the paint chips and the hooks look gold. He never has a problem catching fish though.
  13. I ended up going with the Curado K. I felt like the DC was a little overkill. Going to keep my eye out for a JDM Bantam which I might pick up in the near future.
  14. How do you like the Tournament Pro? I'm in the market for a new reel.
  15. I was thinking about that as well. How is it in the wind?
  16. As the title states I'm in the market for a new bait caster. Had some issues with drag and casting distance on two different new Tatula 100s. Sent both in to Daiwa and they said that they were both "in spec". I can out cast either by a good distance with my Tatula CT and the drag doesn't slip on hookset. Long story short I'm looking to browse other avenues for baitcasting reels. I have a budget of $300 for a single reel. What would you guys recommend? Braking systems don't matter Nice drag system Mainly throw T-rigs and jigs on fluoro. (Not sure if this matters) On my radar currently is: Curado K Lews Custom (White one) Revo STX
  17. I use InvisX with L&L and have no issues. The only time I have coils is when I have to peel deep down into the spool because I ended up with a professional overrun. I used Hybrid for a bid but straight flouro is way more sensitive for me. I would just make sure you condition the line and give Sniper a try, I have heard good things about it.
  18. Ended up contacting Daiwa and they want me to send it in.
  19. Didn't want to resurrect an old thread but I'm curious if you got the reel working? I just had a slipping issue with the new Tatula 100 and sent it back to Daiwa. I'm hoping they fix it but it was slipping in clear water on hooksets. I missed a couple of fish and even had my father try it for a few hours. He missed one and then had trouble reeling a little dink. P.S. Running Fluoro and drag wasn't backed off quarter turn from being locked down.
  20. I use mine out of the box in case there is an issue so it can be returned if needed.
  21. Call Daiwa. I had an issue with my drag on the new 100. They walked me through some steps over the phone that helped determine that there was and issue with the drag. Sending it out Monday and should only be gone a week according to the rep.
  22. TAT SV or Zillion SV is what you are gonna wanna go with. Lowest I have seen the Tat SV is about $165.
  23. They are skinner and don't feel as comfortable as the CT version.
  24. I have this issue with a pair of Oakleys I have. I quit wearing them for fishing and now use them use them for driving.
