  1. Man, thats kind of disappointing about the Tatula Elite.
  2. The Gander Outdoors near me carries a lot of the baits, tackle and line I use. I go there to pick things up when I need them. They have a crap selection of rods and reels though. Its the only place within 40 miles of me that carries stuff besides wally world. Like others have said no one is ever in there.
  3. I completely agree with DVT. Its the same with gun lubes. Everyone wants the magic lube but there is no such thing. Lube will do its job as intended if applied to the correct lube is applied to the correct places. Also don't apply a bunch, less is more. The more you add the more dirt sticks to it and and more you have to clean it for it to operate properly.
  4. The R100s are the older Tatulas that use the larger original frame if its the Tatula Type R. Which is the same frame in the new Tatula 150. Personally I would go with the new 100. Its smaller, lighter and casts just as far. I also believe it holds the same amount of line. If you want a Type R get the Tatula CT Type R (Has the red hood). Has a smaller frame and all the benefits you listed and I believe I seen some on the bay in the 7.3:1 ratio.
  5. Honestly. I would look at a Daiwa Tatula CT and Daiwa Tatula rod. If you look on ebay or sportsmans outfitters should be able to get that combo for $200. You could also look at The Shimano SLX combo which can be had for about the same price.
  6. Looks like I will just save extra money and pick up the IMX.
  7. https://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/products/team-lews-pro-ti-speed-spool-slp-series Listed at $259. I would hop on that deal.
  8. E6x sorry should have mentioned that.
  9. I'm looking to upgrade this rod. I would like to stay in the weight range of 1/4 to 3/4. Basically I feel like I could get a better rod for the $$$ from another company. I would like like to stay in the same price range with $250 being my max. I fish from shore so don't want anything longer than 7'3" as that would cause some issues casting. What would you guys recommend?
  10. Get a Mojo. I had a bass x and sold it because it was a let down. Not sensitive at all.
  11. I actually sold off a Curado K because of this reason. When it was mounted on an E6X my palming hand would hurt. It was digging into the meat of my palm. Wasnt going to change the way I hold a baitcaster for a single reel. I hold a rod and reel with all my fingers in front of the trigger on the rod.
  12. I was actually looking at these rods to replace my E6x. Are they sensitive normally?
  13. My picks for a new reel : Tatula SV Tatula CT Like others have said, if you're not in a hurry then ebay will be your friend when it comes to the SV. You can usually get them for about $150. The CT can be had for less than $100. I purchased and SV and love it. Cast great and feels super solid in your hands. CT is amazing reel and fishes amazing. I don't think you could wrong with either choice.
  14. Thanks everyone for the replies. Looks like I will be picking up some jigs here in the next couple of days. Will also have to try punching from shore.
  15. Local Fishing Store Thanks for the reply. Do you think 3/8 would be too heavy? I have the setup to throw it. I fish mostly hard bottom with sparse vegetation.
  16. For the guys that throw jigs from shore, what do you use? What weight? Head style? Was told at my LFS not to throw jigs from shore because they wont work correctly. I feel like there might be some truth to that but at the same time why couldnt I?
  17. OP if you can get an SV for $150, I would jump all over it.
  18. I'm currently looking at a new casting rod. I purchased an E6X because its a G.Loomis and I have had my eye on it for a while. Well I'm less than please with the performance over my Tatula XT rod. Looking to stay in the under $200 range. What would you guys recommend? The rod will be used for jigging and t-rigs. Currently run the 843c and the Tatula XT is 7'3" MH. The Tatula seems to load better and cast further than the E6X. The tatula also feels just as sensitive as the E6X if not more. Let me know what you guys think and I will try to answer any questions you might have.
  19. I have a CT and had a 100. The only reason I was interested in the 100 was for the zero adjuster. There is nothing that the 100 does better than the CT. They cast the same distance wise. The 100 also had issues with the drag slipping on hooksets. Sent it to Daiwa and they "fixed" it, the issue continued. Ended up selling the reel and just cutting my loses. My vote goes CT.
  20. I remember watching videos when it was 1rod1reel and then the other guys came along. It was cool for a while then they all got too big for their britches and that is when I stopped watching. I now avoid all their products like the plague.
  21. I would get the Curado. Holds a lot of line. Mine has been really finicky when it comes to switching lures of different weights. If you use the same weight you should have no issues.
  22. I was actually using the rod on my baitcaster. No issues with casting distance and the sensitivity is actually really good using fluoro.
  23. If its under warranty, I would return it. Just picked up a Tatula SV two days ago and the thing sounds whisper quiet. I was also surprised with the casting distance on the reel. I can cast it about as far as my CT, but I have a lot more control over it.
