  1. I can get Fuego for $99 and Tatula 100 for $99. Prices for Fuegos have gone up.
  2. I've been fishing since I was kid, like 7 years old. I love the challenge of the chase. There is always one more cast, one more fish to catch, never ending adventure. When I retire, I plan to fish even more! I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors, on the water, fishing.
  3. I have been using jerkbaits before they were called jerkbaits: #9 Original Floating Rapala in black/gold. Fast forward to today, I am fishing using more expensive lures: Vision 110, Provoke 106, LC Pointer and others. These are designed to provide erratic slashing action and suspend on the pause. I always have one tied on, they just catch fish, everywhere.
  4. I fish from a kayak 75% of the time. Marker buoys are an invaluable tool for me. I like deep cranking and the buoys help me stay on a spot. In a kayak, drifting is a constant battle. I have an anchor trolley that is a must and gets used often. Buoys and an anchor. Once I get my pedal kayak up and running, this might be easier.
  5. The monkey says I "need" one more reel to round out my line up. This will be used for crankbaits in the 1/4 to 5/8 ounce size. I am looking at the 7.x:1 speed. I have several Fuegos and one Tatula 100. The Tatula 100 can be purchased for less than the Fuego or at least that is what I am seeing. Both reels are excellent in my opinion. I believe supply and demand has driven up the price of the Fuego.
  6. I have never tried these, but have been using the KVD 1.5 Flatside crankbait and it catches fish. Watermellon/red craw, chartreuse perch, and chili craw.
  7. I have a Humminbird G2 on my kayak. I always remove the head unit when I travel.
  8. I am right there with you! Mine should be here soon!
  9. 10 to 14 lb invisx depending on the cover.
  10. I love my Fuegos. I also have a few SLX reels, but not for frogging. For frogging, I use the Fuego CT in 8.1:1. Another option is the Tatula 100 or 150.
  11. Last bait monkey purchase for awhile. I have a bunch of 6th Sense lures, but nothing in ghost colors which I think will work well in the clear waters I fish. Ghost Pro Shad:
  12. I am interested in the responses too. I’m debating the 7’4” Heavy Tatula glass chatterbait/spinnerbait rod. I currently own a Tatula XT 7’ MH glass that I use for 3/8 and 1/2 once baits. It’s fine for those, probably need to beat that monkey back!
  13. Of those three a spinnerbait would be my favorite followed by a square bill, then chatterbait. I get more bites on a jerkbait during pre-spawn. I like super flukes this time of year too.
  14. KVD Dream Shot - green pumpkin and moon juice.
  15. I have an anchor trolly and use a 3.5 lb folding anchor.
  16. I do and it requires and anchoring system or pedal drive to be effective.
  17. You will like how it works too. Again, for the price, especially the SO price, they are great rods. 90% of my 2020 line up are Tatula or Tatula XT rods.
  18. Shad Rap, no question. They just catch fish. They work excellent trolling too. I use perch patterns mostly due to forage in the lakes I fish. The Bad Shad is a good lure, I have several and use them in stained or dirty water since they have rattles in them. Most of the lakes I fish are pretty clear, this is where I believe the balsa and non-rattle of the Shad Rap shines.
  19. Monkey just got me for 2 more of those DDs (and a few other things): blood and green pumpkin craw.
  20. Just got notification of shipment from TW!!
  21. I trend to lip my fish. I have a net, but have always reached down and lipped them.
  22. I am still waiting. I ordered on BF when TW showed a 12/21/19 restock date.
  23. For the price at SO, you can't beat that rod. Even at regular price of $119 it's a good deal. The XT line is fantastic in my opinion. I own several.
  24. I have that rod. It would work for what you are asking about. I use it for flipping and pitching mostly.
