  1. This is fantastic A-Jay! Working out is great for the mind too! Takes away anxiety and stress! The wife and I walk every day and lift weights 3 times per week at home. I lost 55 pounds by simply quitting alcohol. My nemesis.
  2. I really like my Tatula 7'4" frog rod. It is fantastic. I use it for pitching sometimes, but I have a dedicated rod for that technique.
  3. I have a few rods that meet your criteria that I really like: Daiwa Tatula TTU701MRB, this a 7' medium power rod with regular action (not fast) Carbon Lite 2.0 JCT70MTF, this is a 7' medium power rod with fast action I also have a glass rod with medium action: Daiwa Tatula TTU701MRB-G, this is a 7' medium power rod with regular action (not fast) All three are great for throwing lighter lures. I can cast #9 Rapala a pretty good distance with any of the rods mentioned above.
  4. I typically get an email saying the backordered item(s) shipped.
  5. I still own a small 12 foot semi-V boat with 7.5 Honda outboard. I use this when I want to fish with someone or fish larger bodies of water. I have 2 kayaks, 1 pedal, 1 paddle. As you noted, nothing like fishing from a kayak. Love being closer to nature and the solitude. I am in "work mode" 5 days per week, nice to get out and relax fishing from my kayak. Not many things are more relaxing and fun than kayak fishing.
  6. Happens to me on a weekly basis, if not more often. That d**n monkey gets me every time. I also did the 6th Sense deal on TW...
  7. Almost got that very rod around Black Friday. Ended up with a Tatula glass rod with similar specs.
  8. I ordered a few too. I have about 10 already, but not in Black Magic.... Which rod did you go with?
  9. Daiwa DX swimbait rods are great for the price. I have the heavy version.
  10. TW has the 6th Sense Curve 55 for $5.99 or 25% off today.
  11. 2019 PB: 4.2 lb largemouth caught on Zoom Super Fluke bluegill flash, rigged weightless/Texas style. Overall PB 5.8 lb largemouth caught on a Strike King 5XD in yellow perch.
  12. Monkey got me for some Strike King goodness: Rocket Shads, Lil Mr Money, 3xd, 5xd, 6xd in Clearwater Minnow.
  13. You might consider the Old Town Topwater PDL series. They have the yak in 10.6 and 12 foot models. I just bought the 10.6 on Black Friday. I have used it a few time since I got it. Super happy. Great pedal drive, 36 inches wide, plenty of room.
  14. I have both, the SV TWS is my favorite reel by a pretty wide margin.
  15. I wear Kuhl and REI convertible pants.
  16. The monkey got me for a bunch of gear around Christmas. I have 1 rod and reel still on my list. I put together my 2020 rod line up and have 1 hole to fill: flipping/pitching combo. Once that’s filled, I should be good to go for awhile. I hope. I’m sure the monkey will get me on baits at some point.

My favorite band of all time. Sad day. I have been crying all day. Cranking Moving Pictures right now!!! Neil was the best drummer I have ever seen, widely regarded as the best in the world.
  18. Deep cranking is one of my favorite techniques. I have a Tatula glass rod for the size of deep divers you are asking about. 7'4" Heavy Glass. Model TT741HRB-G. I use it for 1/2 or larger spinnerbaits and chatterbaits too. I have it paired with a Tatula 150 5.4:1. The rod is pretty light for the size and I can use this combo all day without getting too wore out. I really like the glass rod for this application. I mostly throw these crankbaits on it: 6th Sense Cloud 9 C15/C20, 5XD, 6XD, Dredger 20.5 and 25.5, and DT14-20.
  19. I use a deep Plano 3600 and Cabela's wrap for larger baits.
  20. I have 3 Carbon Lite 2.0 rods, 2 casting, 1 spinning. Got them last year for $79 each. For that price, fantastic rods.
  21. Yes, the crate is secured with bungees in the back well section. I bought a crate and added rod holders. My profile pic is my current set up (paddle yak).
  22. I bring 4 rods (3 casting, 1 spinning), the 3 not in use are tethered. I bring 3-4 3600 waterproof boxes and a bag of plastics, this all goes in my crate behind my seat. I try to bring what I think will work based upon time of year and conditions. Always wear a PFD.
  23. IMA Glide Fluke 125 and Spro BBZ-1
  24. 2.8 Keitech Fat Impact and Dark Sleeper are my best producers.
