  1. I use 10 lb seaguar invisx for jigs/worms and 10 lb sunline assassin for treble hook baits. I don't like using leaders if I can get away with it.
  2. Agree, I have the porter cable listed above. Works great. I use it on my fiberglass RV. Porter Cable
  3. I have and use both, either work for me.
  4. Awesome cleaner is very good, but sometimes on aluminum can get slightly oxidized or dirt can build up. I use softscrub when it gets that bad.
  5. Never had an issue ordering from SO, rods come in a tube. Everyone I have purchased from them has arrived in perfect condition.
  6. I have had good success with the 6th Sense Speed Glide. It’s a smaller bait with great action.
  7. I’m thinking Black Friday, 20% off at TW. Both of those reels will be about $100
  8. Sportsmans Outfitters has Daiwa Tatula XT on sale for $69.99. They have several cranking rods available. I have a ML and MH and they are fantastic rods for $99.99 let alone $69.99.
  9. It's the Citica that is on sale at TW: CI200I
  10. I know the Citica is older tech. I have one and really like it. What about the Citica compared to SLX XT?
  11. I also use the War Eagle finesse in both sizes: 3/16 and 5/16. I haven't found a better spinnerbait. These things just work.
  12. I really like my SLX, it's not an expride, but it is really good. How much better does it need to be for jerkbaits?
  13. The final package arrived today, several days late due to mangled address on the package. The box was pretty hammered. A few holes in it too. I asked the UPS driver to wait while I checked the contents (if it was bad I was going to refuse shipment). Turns out the rod was wrapped with massive amounts of paper and was in perfect condition. I guess I lucked out. Super nice frog rod bye the way!
  14. 6th Sense makes crappie colored cranks.
  15. The package is arriving today, I will report out when the package gets here.
  16. Agree: pop max and dark sleeper. Dark sleeper catches anything.
  17. Yes I was using braid. My son builds rods, so he simply replaced the bad guides.
  18. This doesn't look good. Package is stuck 20 miles from me, label unreadable? That sounds like the package got mangled. 50/50 if so. First one good, second one bad?
  19. I have had the David Fritts, not a bad stick, but the guides wore out quickly. I ended up giving it to my son and getting a Daiwa Tatula XT cranking rod from Sportsmans Outfitters for $79.99 shipped.
  20. Only one arrived, the 7 footer. Long rectangle box. Not even a dent in it. I was shocked. Rod was perfect and can’t wait to use it. Luck I guess. 7’4” arrives tomorrow.
  21. Both of my rods ordered from Dick’s are supposed to arrive today. Fingers crossed.
  22. Shimano or Daiwa
  23. Baitcaster: medium fast 6’10” and 7.x reel. 10 lb sniper or invisx FC. I like heavy 4/0 EwG hook to get the bait to sink. No swivels. bluegill flash
