While their primary diet is zooplankton, they are known to eat insects, larvae and occasionally small fish. This one in TN was caught by a guy fly fishing. https://flylordsmag.com/68-lb-paddlefish-caught-on-the-fly/- Eyeopening Trip to Bass Pro Shop
With local store discount - I'm paying $8.75 a pack.- Line for drop shot fishing?
I use FC leader for my drop-shot fishing off of braid...I don't see the issue.- Any lakes without ice yet?
Some have said it is - but yesterday when I was out I noticed a swath of ice about 20yds wide on the north-west side of Phelps Island...Al and Alma's docks eastward almost to Emerald Lake channel. Until any ice pushed against shorelines is gone, it's not ice-free. Though there are boats out - saw a couple launching at Spring Park.- My Wife Always Laughs
Wife asked me, "Don't you have enough rods/reels?" Then I showed her a pic of @A-Jay's rod locker on his Lund...she shut up pretty quick. Wife has actually said to me, "Why don't you go downstairs and play with your tackle." Wait....WHAT!?- Extra Fast Action
Here's the FB post that has the Victory recommended techniques...3 charts covering the entire line https://www.facebook.com/StCroixRod/posts/pfbid0WK6oDnrGMVFcXS4Y75YGditTfXRSYsNDer4bxd7m85TJSEQ1jftzMTmkMtLRV4tFl- converting to spinning reels only
Ditto - It's a matter of learning how to feather the line on a spinning reel...since I've been using spinning gear almost 2 decades longer than casting gear, I'm still more accurate with it...though casting is catching up. My MH spinning rig is for skipping...though I am going to (once again) try skipping with casting gear.- Do you prefer shallow or regular spools for your finesse spinning setup, and do you use electrical tape or mono backing?
I mono back every reel - 4# Zebco Cajun on the Spinning reels, 10# Big Game on the Casting reels.- Bass fishing 2023 glossary
Since dams are designed to be permanent, or at least semi-permanent and do not usually change over their life...unlike a decaying stump/tree - I would consider them to be structure.- Eyeopening Trip to Bass Pro Shop
I bought my first pack when I was around 10 or 11 - still quarter a pack then (about 1970 or 71). Still smoking today at 63 - I think some people are immune cause my last chest series was clear and my EKG was normal...for a 40 year old in good condition. ?♂️- Winter 2022-23
We're at 48 now and with the sun almost all the snow we got 2 days ago is gone.- Peet’s Major Dickason’s
I like it cause it's a MN company - their HQ is still here despite being owned overseas. I get ground and whole bean depending on whether I want to dig out my grinder - which can do everything from course ground to Turkish fine.- Peet’s Major Dickason’s
I might try it sometime - though I've been very happy with my Caribou. Course could be the same as both Peet's and Caribou are owned by JAB Holding Company of Luxembourg. They also own Bruegger's, Keurig, Krispy Kreme, Dr. Pepper, Einstein Bagels, Panera Bread and several other companies.- Bass fishing 2023 glossary
Structure: The un-changing or slowly changing topography of a water body's bed Cover: The vegetative growth out of a water bed or items entered into a body of water that are not a natural part of the bed.- FG knot on light line... help?
Ya - I only tie the FG when prepping for an outing...if I need to tie on a leader while on the water - because of break-off or I'm putting a leader on a line that I don't always use a leader with - it's with an Alberto.- Help needed with line!
- FG knot on light line... help?
Make sure when you're looping the braid around the flouro that every hitch is tight and snug...what I'm seeing there is the signs of a loose wrapping. I have no issues with 10#braid to 6# flouro or 15#braid to 8# flouro.- Winter 2022-23

I remember that - though when I was getting gas...and working at the station in the mid-late 70s...it was $0.10 a gallon more for 'Full Serve' over 'Self Serve'.- When do you change our your braid?
When it gets low on the spool - usually from cutting off frayed line or lots of lure changes. IIRC I'm going into year 4 on the 40# on my frog reel.- Will 9.9 kicker work on this. Please help!
Ya - considering that's a decked jon-boat - if you want to run on HP restricted lakes, I'd be more inclined to swap motors...two motors on that thing and it's gonna be butt-heavy if the transom could even take it.- Winter 2022-23
Pretty typical - a day or two after we get something, either you or @A-Jay or both get it. - TN Record Paddlefish
