  1. Probably cause there aren't workers to be had. Current Unemployment rate is 3.5% - same it was in Feb of 2020 before Covid messed everything up. In the past 20 years - next lowest rate was 4.4% back in March of 2007 https://www.bls.gov/charts/employment-situation/civilian-unemployment-rate.htm
  2. My Silver/Black Back Original 11 and my Gold/Orange back Countdown 09 I've had for over 40 years now...couple of the very few lures I have remaining from back then.
  3. Personally, I prefer a ML for most finesse fishing.
  4. Why couldn't they have picked other names for these dweebs? I feel a little insulted... Ken (jk) Oh, and MN has that interference law as well. MN Statute: 97A.037 HUNTER, TRAPPER, AND ANGLER HARASSMENT PROHIBITED. Subdivision 1. Interference with taking wild animals prohibited. A person who has the intent to prevent or disrupt another person from taking or preparing to take a wild animal or enjoyment of the out-of-doors must not disturb or interfere with that person if that person is lawfully taking or preparing to take a wild animal. "Preparing to take a wild animal" includes travel, camping, and other acts that occur on land or water where the affected person has the right or privilege to take lawfully a wild animal.
  5. I went to the MK cause I don't like the idea of 3 tag ends gathering algae and weeds. MK is similar to the double-line Uni, but ends up with only 1 tag end.
  6. I use a relatively unknown knot for terminal connections - the MK - it's similar to the Uni in ways, but easier for me to tie. Backing-mainline connection I use the double-Uni And like Scott - when I snell it's with the Uni version.
  7. Country and me do not get along....give me Symphonic Metal every time.
  8. That's when I'd turn Bluetooth off on my phone/tablet.
  9. I thought they developed a vaccine for that?
  10. My sister has been doing this - considering she works the research desk at Hennepin County Library's main downtown location, she's got access to hoards of records. One example of what she found - my great-grandparents on my mother's side...their travel from 'the old country' to the US.
  11. Pair of these wired in - comes in white or black https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Systems-MR4-3W-Weatherproof-Speakers/dp/B00B65J6A8?th=1
  12. If it is...look at what you got coming still.
  13. Spring has finally put in it's appearance here.
  14. Just be warned - they ship no other way than Next Day and charge for it. I was going to order some stuff from M-Carr when I was rebuilding the F-9 - $64 order...they wanted $50 for shipping...I called to see if they'd ship it ground as I didn't need it right away - and the CS rep said 'That's the only way we ship...sorry.' Canceled the order and went with Fastenal.
  15. Welcome to the forum, Carlos You're not the only one from across 'The Pond' - though I haven't seen our British or Portuguese members in a while. Grab a chair, a glass of Port, and join in - great group of people here who will help you catch more bass.
  16. Good B-Day wishes to her, my friend. She's a strong, inspiring woman. Also, strength to you - you're an inspiration as well.
  17. As smallies are relatively rare in the lakes I fish, I'm pretty much a largemouth guy. Darn, Andy - that looks like one of my efforts.
  18. Even with bigger eyes - I still pass through and back to create a loop so I don't accidentally kink the line.
  19. You're not winding it tight enough when building the knot would be my first guess. I don't have knot slippage when tying FC, Mono or YZH as leaders to my Sufix 832 with the FG
  20. Why were you running around desecrating pyramids?
  21. Ya - first thing I'd do is check for shorts.
  22. There's lots of good reels in the $100-$150 range. There's also some very good rods in that same range. I'm not personally familiar with Lews other than one spinning reel - but they have a good rep.
  23. I took early retirement to take care of the wife. Before COVID, we had a regular PCA so I could go out 2-3 times a week for long periods. Once COVID hit, we lost our PCA and even now are having trouble finding a replacement as like all medical/personal care fields, they took a big hit. So I'm the wife's PCA now. So for the foreseeable future...maybe once a week for 4-5 hours...if I'm lucky
