  1. Close to what ever the predominate forage in your lake is. For me, it's a toss-up between HD Live Bluegill, HD Live Pumpkinseed, or Perch.
  2. First day of bass fishing (happens after ice-out) - Four rigs that'll be on the deck Jerkbait Chatterbait Weightless Fluke Ned
  3. This and even 1/16oz to give it a slower fall...I'll sometimes put 4" Power Worms or 4" Zoom Curly Tails on.
  4. <- Aquatic Biology major in college - took Limnology classes for that. Figures are based on world-wide averages - of course there will be slight deviations based on location, but still...I think desalination on a large scale isn't going to affect the oceans to any noticeable degree.
  5. Lets look at some figures. Percentage of salt in ocean water 3.5% by mass (USGS) For every ton (cubic meter = 1,000 liters) of water desalinated, you get 35kg of salt Volume of the oceans = 13350011738632800 cubic meters (NOAH) Amount of salt in the oceans = 467250410852148 tons Percentage increase in salt for every ton of water desalinated = 7.49x10-17 (.0000000000000000749%)
  6. Nope - about the same 65# Sufix 832/Seaguar Smackdown = .016" 20# Seaguar InvizX = .016" 20# Seaguar Tatsu = .015"

  8. Mine is my Ned, Split-Shot and Hair Jig rod.
  9. Trust you to find this kind of thing, Chris....good stuff.
  10. There is a 7'0" 2 piece version of mine - PCYN702LFS (mine is PCYN701LFS)- but it's out of stock everywhere also.
  11. There's an old thread that I copied the info from - someone went and weighed a lot of plastics and posted it 5" GYCB Senko = .3641oz - just under 3/8 (.375)
  12. ^ Move up a little - my L/F is a Daiwa Procyon, I'm very happy with it and no plans to upgrade as of yet. 7' Light - https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_Procyon_Spinning_Rods/descpage-PYS.html
  13. I'll go a bit over - but not much. My Fury 704C I'll go up to 1-1/4, but I won't go 'swinging for the fences' on a cast. If I'm casting something over the weight rating, it's an easy cast, not a hard swing.
  14. You should have put in some cisterns for the next drought...you guys are getting way over-wet.
  15. Like stated, a MH/F rod is pretty universal. While it's slow for how I fish...bottom contact is probably where I'd slot that one in. T-Rigs, Jigs, Tokyo/Jika in moderate to light cover. 15#-17# FC or 30#-40# braid with 17#-20# FC leader.
  16. 10# Hi-Vis Sufix 832, 4# Sufix Siege leader....start with 24", replace when it gets under 10"
  17. Go with the Light. I got no issues casting even a F03 on my L/F rod, remember also the plastic adds to the weight so that 1/32 jig plus plastic is gonna be 1/16 or more total, even a #0 Aglia or Comet cast fine on it.
  18. I'm quite familiar with Maine's climate - when I lived in Mass many years ago, one of our summer vacation spots was in Maine.
  19. That type of weather makes it just as hard for me to fish as what we got going on here now...I wilt when it gets much above 85 degrees and/or 70% humidity.
  20. Another skipping lure on spinning for me - my Reflexions A MH/F is rated 12#-25# line - 3/8-1.25oz - with a Supreme 30 loaded with braid, I got that covered.
  21. I'll take that over what we got going on.
  22. Have been for 56 years now. While this coming year's arsenal has 10 baitcasters, I also have 3 spinning rigs for bass and another 4 spinning rigs for panfish...so almost as many spinning as casting. I practice-practice-practice...still can't get the hang of skipping with casting gear, but skip fine with spinning...reason I have an MH/F spinning rig in my arsenal. I personally think spinning will never go out of style - in fact there's bass fishermen out there who won't touch casting gear, doing all their catching on spinning gear.
