I've got a Rolex I've had for 40 years - wear it maybe twice every three years...special occasions only Last time I wore it was to the WT concert I went to last fall.

I'm just wondering what the leader is - is it Gold, Blue or just a length of BasiX

Same here - the 50#832 on my pitching rig is going into it's 4th year as is the 40#832 on my frog rig and the 20#832 on my MH/F spinning rig. Maybe next year I'll reverse them...

Just a memory of being on the lake - last outing of last year...hopefully won't be too long before I get out again. 68 days to bass opener.

Only time I've ordered rods from Amazon - they were sold/fulfilled by an outside vendor - Evike.com, and they ship in tubes.

Northern's issue is rare - I've purchased 3 reels from Amazon, and my wife ordered the one I got for Yule from Amazon as well. All four came new in original boxes.

Good choice - my refurbished '73 Evinrude 25hp cost me $700. $500 to repair what's been a good motor for you is money well spent in my book.

At the very least I'd contact Amazon service - if it's sold as a new reel, there should be a box and instructions. They don't mention anything about it being used, refurbished or anything like that. Personally - getting a reel like that packaged as it was....I'd send it back for a refund.

Was it ordered from Amazon Warehouse, or a 3rd Party Vendor?

Go with 50# straight braid - that's what I use on my pitching reel.

Ignore that part - A-Rigs in MN can only have one hook...so there's a 4:1 chance of loosing a bait but not getting the fish on a 5-arm.

Yep - going on 2-3 years now with the same backing on my 'older' reels. 5 new reels this year need backing though.

Ya - up here people put plastic owls and eagles on dock posts to 'keep the Canadian Geese' away and their docks free from goose-poop Funny to see those same dock with a dozen or more geese wandering about, ignoring the 'scary' owls and eagles.
