  1. Trade ya...
  2. I can see that as a way to make the main motor more weed-resistant.
  3. Marrying a girl who lets me go fishing...
  4. Dude - 30's for a high up here this time of year and we're in short sleeves
  5. And the guides are designed to even it out so by the time it exits the tip-top, it's shooting out straight. <- been using spinning reels closing on 60 years now.
  6. We had sun almost all of yesterday....didn't help as we topped out at +3 Right now it's -3 and stepping out the back door for a cig is not very fun.
  7. Sucks right now, I know. We're here for you man, and eventually things will get better. Give those kids a hug, make sure they know you love them...
  8. By the opposite token - line basically 'falls' off a spinning reel, where-as the line coming off a casting reel has to 'fight' the inertia of the spool and all the line behind it. Different strokes...
  9. Well...when you see pics like these...you have to wonder
  10. Well, it's advertised as having SilentDrive - which says 'Worm Shaft'...I'll look at the schematic I got with my 2500 and maybe even take the cover off.
  11. I would hope so - since my Miravel has the worm gear at $100 less retail.
  12. Ya - I'll stick with my 3-3/4" Baby Bull...I've also got it in Bluegill...double whammy.
  13. Wait - are we just counting bass rods, or should I include the five panfish rigs too? If so - then 20.
  14. At $190 each - it better look good.
  15. I didn't even consider putting in tubes when I rebuilt the F-9. 12 rigs last year and the locker was only 1/2 full. Ain't that the truth...
  16. Just to muddy the waters St Croix Victory 7'2" Heavy/Moderate - they rate it for cranks up to 15' diving depth. I have the 7'2" Medium-Heavy/Moderate (one step down), and it's light, well balanced and should be very good as my new crank rod.
  17. I do mine about 10-12 minutes...and just use tap water, hot only, depending on what your water heater is set to...mine is at 140.
  18. Just put them in some hot (not boiling) water for a bit, then lay them out...they'll straighten.
  19. We can get lifetime licenses too - from any age....they just cost a good bit. Mine would be $379 - and would take 15 years to 'pay off' at the regular $25/year fee. MN, you need a license until you're 90...
  20. Just when I finally catch up to you, you have to go and add to your stash. Not fair, Chris...
  21. Great beginners guide, Kent. Question is....how many do you have and how many do you set up before a trip? Inquiring minds want to know.
  22. @A-Jay and @gimruis have it right - going from canoe to boat was the best decision I ever made for fishing.
  23. I'm not sure - I remember my cousin (who worked for the DFW in MA) said that there were restrictions on what you could use as bait, but I forget what the list was...been out of MA for 40 years - he retired 15 years ago. I'd check with the DFW to make sure it's allowable.
  24. Pick one good knot that's quick to tie...I do change out, and the knot I use is solid and fairly easy. I use it for all terminal connections.
