  1. That's not entirely accurate.
  2. I think you got either a mislabeled spool or counterfeit...here's what I got (I use 10# BG as backing on my casting reels). Even the bar-code is different.
  3. Pump price here is $3.29 I had a .40 discount on my Cub Card so paid $2.89 for the first 20 gallons, pump price for the last 4 gallons.
  4. And most of them will harp on one aspect - 'Marriage is for life...stay together'.
  5. Location - the lakes I fish are all within 20 minutes of my house. Since I don't have full days to fish, the more time I get on the water the better. My most-used launch point for the boat is 1 mile from my place. It doesn't hurt that the lake regularly produces 6.5#-7# LMB during tournaments held here...which considering the state record is only 8#15oz, that's not too shabby.
  6. 63 years old, 32+ years of marriage... Wife and I ran into a rough road, her being disabled, me having to take early retirement to care for her, mostly 24x7 being around each other. We had a period where we both questioned. Talking, working things out...and we're back to being happy together again. If you can't talk it out yourselves...then as John said, marriage counseling might be needed.
  7. We got some light snow flurries.
  8. It is https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Uncle_Josh_Pork_Frog/descpage-UJPF.html
  9. The Pflueger 30 size is a 2500 size - so anything you'd use a 2500 for. Wacky, Neko, Shakey would all work with that size reel. I actually use a Supreme 30 with 20# braid on a MH/F rod for skipping jigs/chatters since I can't skip with a BC to save my life.
  10. Maybe not a single one...but if you're willing to sacrifice one you can make molds from this. Then cast parts in polyurethane with this. $30 each for the two in the 'sample size' - but once a mold is made - that $30 of resin could probably churn out a dozen or more casts. Note: In my scale modeling, I've used both products to replicate parts for 'kit-bashing' - where parts from a few different kits are put together to create something new...and I still have the original parts.
  11. Canoes are ripe for upgrading - this is what I fished out of before getting the F-9 and modifying it. Before After
  12. What kind of boat will determine what you can do with it easily and inexpensively. Last winter - this was my project.
  13. I cut mine down and now use it as my spooling station for my reels. Want a low-price rod that actually does a good job? Daiwa Aird-X. Even with Dobyns and St Croix in my arsenal, I still have a couple Aird-X that I use.
  14. Makes me miss my previous truck 1998 WT-1500 (they call it a 1500HD now), 2WD, 4.3l Vortec 6, 5-speed manual. On a trip from MN to MA, I averaged 27.4mpg
  15. In the rod-compartment of the boat usually. Oh...shore fishing. Back of this beast. 2001 Silverado LS, 5.3l V-8, 5-speed auto, electronic 4WD, tow package...tows the F-9 like the boat ain't even behind it.
  16. I watched like 4 of his postings....and swore off him. You hit the nail on the head, Glenn. Seems he can't find anything he's happy with...and says that everyone but himself is doing it wrong.
  17. Nope - what's not already hard-water on Tonka is just open spots in the middle of the hard water. I even saw some guys on the ice on Emerald Lake today.
  18. Please sir, may we have some more?
  19. First - each type has it's own active area. 2-D Chirp transmits/receives in a cone...the Yellow or Red area depending on frequency...so any 'blips' that appear could be in front, behind, to the left or to the right of you. DownScan (Garmin calls it ClearVu) is the Green line below...think of it like a slice through the cone...a blip could be to your right or left, but not in front or behind. SideScan is the most accurate of the three...Blue arcs...as it will show you if the blip is to the right or left. Second - DownScan and SideScan show more detail...what looks to be a hump on 2-D might show up as a downed tree on DS or SS...you'll see the individual branches.
  20. I think we're on a roller-coaster - predicted highs for the next week 30, 38, 16, 29, 24, 13, 16 Today we topped out at 23
  21. That's what a password-manager is for...then us old-farts don't have to remember our passwords.
  22. And lets not forget a few years ago, Tonka wasn't declared ice-free until a week before opener.
