  1. Yep - and I pulled the trigger. Invoice had my St Croix rod at the 20% discount - get 'em while they're hot, boys and girls. I also pulled the trigger on another Digitaka reel
  2. I was gonna recommend that same reel. GMTA
  3. Oh I know - there's no rush long as they get back to me before the sale ends.
  4. I did a reply to the e-mail asking about it....waiting for a response.
  5. Ya - but he was talking Gammy to VMC... Don't get me wrong...VMC is a good hook, but it's my #3.
  6. Yep - 15% here too...across the board except the one rod which is only 10% off. And it does show the 20% discount tag in the cart... New Math?
  7. Zoom Finesse Worms are great for this.
  8. I basically do the same - but with a line-counter and spool to the reel. Mainline first...measured with the counter...then the backing to fill. De-spool to an empty, transfer to second empty to reverse, then spool up the reel. Easy-peasy.
  9. With the wife disabled, we can't go out to our favorite Japanese restaurant for my b-day dinner. Luckily, just a few months ago, one opened in town that delivers. Ginger salad, steak/shrimp/scallop stir fry, pork gyoza and salmon&tuna sushi. She got the same main, but onion soup and no sushi. Nice meal for my 63rd
  10. Gammy and Owner are probably the best hooks out there...'upgrading' from Gamakatsu makes me scratch my head in confusion.
  11. Try an FG, Albright or Alberto knot...all those are slimmer than the two you're using.
  12. Not just capacity - but retrieve rate as well. The Miravel 2500 I got from Digitaka has a 29IPT, the USDM version has a 36IPT. I also back all my reels with cheap mono...spinning reels get Zebco Cajun 6#, enough so that I only put 60-70 yds of mainline on...that's 3 fills per 200yd spool of FC.
  13. If I didn't already have spools of InvizX in the #-tests I wanted - I'd pick up some Tatsu...you can find it for decent prices occasionally...like what InvizX's retail norm is.
  14. I got gifted a spool of Tatsu 15#, put it on my bottom contact rig. That stuff is even better than InvizX for manageability - that's comparing it to 12# InvizX. Yes, KVD on that too - only line in my arsenal that doesn't get KVD is braid.
  15. 32&1/2 years here....we've had our stumbling blocks, but in the end talking things out has always helped. We still occasionally get someone we've recently met asking us 'So, when's the honeymoon over?"
  16. Ya - Daiwa DX MH - 1-8 oz - $100 before sale - https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_DX_Swimbait_Casting_Rods/descpage-DXB.html Put a Lews American Hero on it - $65 before sale - https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lews_American_Hero_Speed_Spool_Casting_Reel/descpage-MHMH.html I'd suggest the same 20# Big Game that Phish did.
  17. Ya - we got all kinds of regulations around here. Some lakes are limited to 10hp, some have lake-wide no wake, and even Minnetonka at 14,000+ acres has a speed limit of 40mph.
  18. ^ What CC said...covers about 80%+ of the baits I use for DS.
  19. Obviously, Tommy suffers from sleep deprivation. Thank you for your service - myself? Air Force - Aug 1980-July 1984.
  20. I just bring everything inside - set aside a section of the basement that's for nothing but fishing gear and the tools to maintain it all.
  21. Return that for a refund and get KVD instead...that's the only thing I use, and it makes InvizX 8# behave itself on spinning reels.
  22. Ya, there's a difference - Magnesium frame on the base Exsence, CI4 frame on those. Though the 'more expensive' one is only $343 on Digitaka.
  23. At 2.5x the retail price...I think they're a bit more than just jazzed up Stradics.
  24. Put more work in and turn it into a 'real' boat. This was my project last winter. The forums at tinboats.net are really helpful.
