  1. I don't see a problem using inshore rods for big swimbaits. Just make sure you got a reel that can handle it - a 4000 or 5000 sounds about right to me.
  2. Well, I still have the propane heater and even when it was in the 20s outside, it was a toasty 73 in the garage when it was running. Just took a bit to get my order from Coremark, that's why the delay in starting this part of the process. Prices went up too - still lots cheaper than Menards. Coremark: $13.75 for a 16' length (they cut in half for free and 8' lengths fit in the truck under the topper) Menards: $11.68 for an 8' length - so $23.36 for 16'
  3. Got a good start on the main framing today. Aft-most risers and cross-member, 3 sides of the livewell and the starboard-side main hull support.
  4. <- Aquatic Biology major in college....John is totally correct...no way to sex-differentiate bass from external-only exam...unless they're 'carrying' and you squeeze to see what they expel.
  5. Luckily I don't have that particular issue.
  6. So I'm optimistic...besides, given my track record I doubt the weight will come into play anyway. ?
  7. Move as much as possible to the front - batteries, gear, even the gas tank if it's movable.

    Or for less money - the EWGs that I use... 11 for $4.99 - that's $0.45 each https://www.rapala.com/vmc/hooks/bass/7311-fastgrip-wide-gap-worm-hook/7311+Fastgrip+Wide+Gap+Worm+Hook.html?cgid=vmc-hooks-bass&taglist=VMC|Hooks|Bass
  9. I did say '3600 size boxes'. caveat emptor
  10. There's been protests in the streets of Moscow itself - people against what their 'leader' is doing.
  11. Ya - YZH would be my second choice for this...I wasn't impressed with Advanced when I tried it.
  12. OH! Moving Baits. I use 40# Sufix 832 for my moving baits. FC is used for bottom contact - jigs, T-Rigs, etc.
  13. BankC has the temps correct...converting that label to Fahrenheit - Charging temp: 32f to 122f Usage temp: -4f to 140f
  14. My bottom-contact setup has 70yds 15# Tatsu over 10# Big Game backing. The Tatsu was gifted to me by a generous member here - if it wasn't Tatsu, it'd be InvizX which I have on two other setups...my budget doesn't allow me to purchase Tatsu.
  15. That's like saying that varnished wood is now non-wood.
  16. Simple plans for me. Cremate me and scatter me to the four-winds. If the wife is still alive - she gets everything. If she's preceded me, I don't have anyone else to pass things on to - so sell it all and donate the entire sum to certain charities.
  17. Looking over the docs - it uses the battery's own charge to run the heater. Colder it is, the more the heater has to work and the more current is drained. I think it would be safe to charge while the internal heater is running - so long as your charger has automatic maintenance mode for LiFePo batteries...but I wouldn't want to store the battery off the charger with the heater connected and running.
  18. Look at the manufacturer's specs. Some LiFePo batteries are good down to zero - other's no colder that mid 20s for use. Most want to be above freezing for charging. We could run around here stating our opinions - but really, the manufacturer is the last word.
  19. Check the manual for your particular charger - even the basic Precision Charger line has a lithium option - the MK 110/220/330/etc PCL is rated for lithium batteries...it's the 'L' at the end that shows it's Lithium capable.
  20. I got a NOCO 5x2 for the F-9 and this adaptor to give me an external point to plug into. The 5x2 plugs into the socket, the 'round part' mounts to part of the decking and you plug a standard extension cord into it.
  21. I've got one - the Green Gill color. Does alright - different action than my Ratlin Raps...sometimes changing things up is good.
  22. Mojo as you said Drop-shot Weightless plastics - Wacky, T-Rig, Flukes Light Shakey Light Weighted Wacky Neko That's what I toss on my Fury 702SF anyway - and the line/lure stats are similar
  23. The one I posted above? You can see the mostly clear skies behind me - wind was calm, I was casting towards the bank and running the spinner from near shore to outer limit in 2'-4' of water and could see the bottom. Bass ran out from under the lily-pads to grab it. So ya - clear/calm is also a thing.

In the case of hooks...you get what you pay for. Since I'm also on a budget, I have to watch my spending...but I do 'pay the extra' for a good hook...VMC is my choice for that. That I can't help with...but still, get away from the bargain-basement hooks.
