  1. We still got a foot-plus of ice on the lakes.
  2. Like this bad boy - I could put this on a rod and fish it today even though I originally bought it in the 70s.
  3. Exactly what I run on my Fuego CT-H/Fury 705CB combo.
  4. So you've been to Minnetonka on a holiday? Scratch that - ANY weekend on Tonka is 'entertaining'...which is why I don't fish weekends.
  5. You leave the Llama-boys hair alone...I think it's great. (saying that while making sure his ponytail is still tied back.)
  6. There were a few flakes blowing around down by Tonka this afternoon - but nothing of any worth.
  7. The Classic - which is the next tournament - is a whole different animal than the Elites - which is what we have been picking for. Classic includes grandfathered pros who don't fish the Elites anymore, winners of Opens who aren't in the Elites yet, and a couple draws. Quite a few of the Elite guys don't qualify for the Classic for one or more reasons.
  8. Here it comes - as @gimruis said earlier...up to 6" for us here in the Metro
  9. Funny enough - I have one of each of these...we'll see how they do on Tonka this year.
  10. I dunno about a kayak - but in a canoe, I just went with what I'd use in a boat. If the standard for a particular technique was a Fast - I used a Fast. In fact, I only have two rods that aren't Fast action - my standard crank rod (Fury 705CB) and my light crank rod (Reflections A ML/MF)
  11. Considering I finished this week below 50% - I think that's what I'm gonna do. Except Seth - gotta keep the loyalty alive.
  12. No debate - just a statement. I owned one Ford - it was a POS from the start. My Chevy's have been nothing but good to me. GM forever!
  13. Sounds like me - I'm still on my 2001 Silverado. Course I turn 80 in 2039...might be past driving at that point.
  14. Get a barrel and fill it with water. I wouldn't even try my old '67 Evinrude 40 I had on the runabout without some kind of water source feeding the intake...not even for a starter test.
  15. Define 'not too bad' - I use KVD on everything but braid, and the AbrazX (IMO) just wasn't affected enough to make it worth my while. Still waiting to hear from guys here about BasiX.
  16. I have 15# Tatsu on my jig-rig. I also have 8# InvizX on one of my spinners. I'd say they're fairly close to each other in abrasion resistance, Tatsu is limper, but InvizX is MUCH limper than AbrazX. I tried 15# AbrazX on the jig-rig before the Tatsu...now my AbrazX is relegated to leader material only...will never spool it up as mainline.
  17. Ya - Fleet Farm still has InvizX at $19.99 (up to 12# test) - that's 25% less than TW has it. They also currently have a sale on Smackdown for $19.99 a spool. https://www.fleetfarm.com/brand/seaguar/_/N-1671222387
  18. Finally - last good weather day for a while...we're dropping back into single digits and teens for highs the rest of the week BUT Finished the pour-foam. Now once I clean the remnants and collect my order from Coremark, I can start building the superstructure.
  19. Story of my life, man.
  20. I carry a small, compressor in the glove compartment. Plugs into the cigar lighter for power.
  21. No matter they label it monofilament - the fact that they say right up front that part of it's composition is 'Hyper Copolymer' tells me a it's a hybrid.
  22. Always to what the tire has marked on it. That's how every tire - trailer, vehicle, bicycle - should be checked...the warmer the tires, the higher the pressure. Filling them to rated spec cold means they're not under-pressured when they're still cold when you start out...if you fill them to rated spec when warm, then they'll be under-pressured when cold.
  23. I'm sticking with my YZH - been performing well and see no reason to change.
  24. Getting out on the water, trying different things to see if I can catch anything, enjoying the sun/wind/quiet, learning what works and what doesn't. "The day I stop learning new things is the day they bury me" Isaac Asimov.
  25. Nope that's a 1976 Dodge Charger SE.
