  1. Bumping it to $100 - this would be my selection. Matter of fact, I fished with this combo last year and the year before...prior to upgrades.
  2. If I want live bait, I just hit the BP on Shoreline and Interlachen - they got 3 types of minnows in tanks...not the bagged one's like the other convenience stores around here. And yes, the prices on tackle are as high as you'd expect.
  3. You're gonna bring that weather back with you...right, Chris?
  4. If you were willing to travel down to Springfield - there's a Scheels there.
  5. I guess I'm lucky. Within 30 minutes drive, even in traffic, I have Scheels Omnia DSG Fleet Farm and a 'mom&pop' store - Wayzata Bait and Tackle 45 minutes away (in light traffic) is a Cabelas.
  6. Natural lakes have them too. Six Mile Creek starts in the lake in the bottom-right - top-right, it empties into Lake Minnetonka, Halsted Bay which is the the western most end of the lake. And at the east end, a dam separates Lake Minnetonka, Grays Bay from the Minnehaha Creek, which passes through a number of other lakes before finally emptying into the Mississippi...so it's a tributary of the Mighty Miss.
  7. I have no problems navigating BPS/Cabelas site with Firefox.
  8. My six BCs run - 6.3:1, 7.1:1, 7.1:1, 7.9:1, 8.1:1, 8.3:1 Why yes. Tom.... Boat reels 5.2:1, 5.4:1, 5.4:1, 6.2:1, 6.2:1 (22.0, 22.4, 25.0, 31.0, 31.8 IPT respectively) Shore/panfish reels 5.4:1, 5,4:1, 6.2:1 (22.0, 29.0, 31.0 IPT)
  9. I would second this. I still have a Trion in my arsenal and it's a very good reel for the price. The 35 size on the 7' Medium rod would be a good all-around rig.
  10. I could visit the parents then pick up an order there...parent's place is just off Douglas a bit north of Bassett Creek.
  11. 16 weeks and a wake up for our bass season to open.
  12. Take care when tying it on FC - don't let the line cross itself in the knot. IMO: Uni would be a better knot for FC.

  14. Gotta remember that it's Andy....his life 'goes to the dogs' quite regularly...Lynn is only able to keep him partially sane.
  15. I know a couple guys are looking at it...haven't heard anything yet on results.
  16. I think the standard hook that comes on Rapala/Storm/Blue Fox is the 9649...which is a so-so hook. For mass replacements, I go with the 9650 which is a 1x...much better than the 9649 and relatively inexpensive too.
  17. Considering we didn't even break 0 today (high was -2) - I'm just gonna say one thing to you, Matt. Suffer!
  18. Go with aggressive - he was a fierce little fella.
  19. I'm there with you, buddy. Canoe started with a Lowrance Hook 2-4...not even GPS Now I got a Striker 7CV - downscan only, no side scan, no built in maps - that's what's gonna be the only unit on the F-9 until I get more 'presents' from the relatives for my B-Day (November) and Yule (they just give me money now-days).
  20. 40+ years ago - guys would slap together something from pallets and scrap wood, haul it onto the ice beginning of the season, melts and refreezes would lock it in...end of the season they'd just set it on fire...and build a new one the following year.
  21. South part of the state - Lake Minnetonka included - March 7...one week after bass/walleye/pike season ends.
  22. Oh ya - there's one on Cooks Bay, Minnetonka that's probably around 12' x 25'. he's got a generator, a satellite dish hooked up to a TV, chem toilet, propane heat and cook stove and even a bed...he could live in that thing for weeks and never come out except to refill the tank on the generator.
  23. Well, most of them are in ice-houses that have heat going. Either a tent like this. Or something a little sturdier like this. Wood-fired stove, propane fired heater....they keep the temps in there in the 40s or low 50s.
  24. I wouldn't say 'thriving'...more like 'surviving. It's just after 8pm, and the temp at my house is already down to -2 Prediction... -14 tonight with tomorrow's high reaching a whopping 0 ?
