  1. Look at my signature, buddy...a 6#LMB is a dream and any SMB would almost give me a heart-attack. DD Bass? Here? Don't make me laugh.
  2. Maybe try my Ocho's - course only color I have is Green Pumpkin/Purple/Gold - don't know how well that'll do this time of year...we're mixed between mid and post spawn right now...there's still a number of bedding males.
  3. I may have to look into those. Was using Owner Wacky hooks yesterday and something(s) stole 4 of my GYCB Senkos and I didn't catch one. 7' Dobyns Fury 703SF, President XT LE 30, 8# InvizX
  4. Ya- try to get East Penn if possible - my West Marine is a re-branded East Penn.
  5. If most of your time is spent at low speed - ya, you could probably swing a 100ah deep-cycle for that. I have a 75ah deep-cycle for the 30# Endura on my canoe - I did 4 full-power runs that ran 5-10 minutes each, then some slower moving. Was out for 4 hours and my Minnkota Power Center box says I still have around 75% charge
  6. Oh ya, it's designed for Ned fishing. Bass LOVE to attack craws that are 'hunkered down' and trying to defend themselves...they just dart in from the sides or behind.
  7. Wind was mild during the second catch, so I was just drifting along. First catch, I had my anchor down (seen in the floor during the second catch), and it's on an anchor-trolley.
  8. Vid for my two catches yesterday is up.
  9. Dunno when, but the DNR page is quite specific "Know and follow all trout-related Regulations, in particular 1) Trout Stamp licensed validation needed (for most license types) for fishing Designated trout waters or having trout in possession" https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/areas/fisheries/westmetro/troutfish.html They do list Little Long as not a designated trout lake - but I'd rather be safe than sorry...and the $10 goes to trout stocking program, so money well spent IMO.
  10. Yes, that's a dual-use battery used for starting and can run electronics. Rating is 210 minutes - translates to about 105AH but with lead-acid batteries you don't want to go below 50%, so you have about 52AH usable. The Endura-50 draws a max of 50 amps at full speed - less at lower speeds - so you'd have about 1hour at full speed. Cheap batteries aren't going to get you much time - spend the money on a pure deep-cycle with higher AH. Or go to AGM for even more, but more time on the water in trade. I think Lithium is out of your price range...they start around $600 for something useful in your situation.
  11. For me - when I had the 14' Runabout - anytime the engine was running, I had my PFD on. Clip it to that would be my suggestion.
  12. I posted about this back in March Actually, if you read the link in my post - it says that any boat equipped MUST use it...doesn't say anything about the age. You just don't have to retrofit one in if it wasn't equipped at the factory.
  13. #2 to #3 Mepps Comet in Shad - I'm always catching little bass when panfishing with that.
  14. Catfish? Really, I dumped all my Ugly Sticks - as much as they're tooted, I think you can get much better rods at the same price point.
  15. Yep - the one I got darted out from under some lily-pads that I was running a spinnerbait along the edge of.
  16. You could always take the 'little boat' to Little Long - they got a 10hp restriction...just make sure you got your Trout Stamp for the year - it's a designated trout lake.
  17. Sometimes makes me wish I could give Darwin Awards to people personally. ?
  18. Get out early if you can - "The Heat is ON"
  19. With a BC - ya, I agree. Now with spinning gear...
  20. I think about 5 fishers came through Phelps, 3 stopped for a bit but left within 1/2-3/4 hour When I left, the lot was full - course it only holds 4 trailers, no non-trailer parking, and boat was launching as I came in...gave him my spot.
  21. Phelps was pretty quiet too this morning...I think everyone was waiting for the afternoon.
  22. Was on the water by 6:30 ack-emma - came off at 11:30 Two bass caught - though had another one at one point but he tossed the lure before I got him in - looked to be a bit bigger than this pair 3/8oz Z-Man Original Chatterbait in Chartreuse with 4" Pit Boss in Skeet's Chartreuse Shad as trailer One note - this was my first good test of the Patriarch I picked up last fall. I'm in love...once I got it dialed in (3-on/3-off on pins, 50% on mags) I could toss that chatter 40-45 yards... without thumb! Anyway - a pair of 14"ers - didn't weigh them, but the chart says around 1.7# - just under keeping size.
  23. Nope - just a couple 14"/1.5#-1.7# They were in 8'-10' of water - weed tops in Phelps are already only 2' down. 3/8oz Chartreuse Z-Man Original Chatter with a 4" Pit Boss in Skeet's Chartreuse Shad was what they wanted. Did try some wacky near docks with a GYCB Senko in Watermelon Cream Laminate - something wanted it, but after it stole 4 of them, I gave up.
  24. Just without the shorts, please.
  25. Well, I'm gonna try to get up super-early and hit the water tomorrow before the nutsos get out. Got my rigs ready except for the plastics, and the one's I'm starting with are in their own box so I don't have to search my two bags for them. Still looking at Tuesday morning as well - and with the weather report the rest of the week...I might just go out a few more times for some morning fishing.
