  1. As always, Glenn - good info done in an entertaining format.
  2. Between two adults, TM and battery - you're already at the weight limit. Whoops, no capacity for tackle, cooler, etc. A 10' jon boat is pretty much a one-person rig...
  3. Nope - just have a leash attached in case the tablet falls out of the mount. Once the maps are downloaded, you don't need the Wi-Fi running - long as the tablet has GPS (mine does) you're good to go.
  4. Or your tablet - I've got a clamp mount for my 8" Galaxy that I run that on...switched from I-Boating this year. It really does a good job...highly recommended for those who don't have maps on their fish-finder.
  5. Ya - my 1998 Chevy WT-1500 (it'd be a 1500HD now) was rated at 27mph highway. A trip to MA I actually got 27.5mpg going out empty. Dropped quite a bit coming back as I was helping someone move from MA to MN. Back of the truck was stuffed...couldn't even close the topper window...and his car was towed behind on a 2-wheel dolly...also stuffed.
  6. Well now I'm not feeling so bad - got 944 for Guntersville.
  7. Well, even with none of my picks getting into Sunday, it wasn't a total washout. Still doing better than I originally thought I would when I jumped into this blind.
  8. If it's not a Trick Worm, it's usually a Zoom Finesse Worm.
  9. For general use on most crank/jerkbaits - I have two options that I use. Prime choice: Owner Stinger ST-41 Value Choice: VMC 9650
  10. What's an SD card? The Striker records the maps to internal memory - no SD card slot.
  11. Ya - Quickdraw is really good - I've been using it on my Striker since the Community maps for 'Tonka are a little lacking. Really nice feature on the Garmins.
  12. Only thing I'll buy from BPS is maybe one more of their 'Extreme Qualifier 3700' bags - they fit more boxes than any other bag that can slide under the mid-seat of my canoe.
  13. I miss my old WT-1500 for that very reason - 5-speed w/overdrive on the floor
  14. If it's Pure Fishing - Zoom might stay right where it's at. Mitchell is still based in France for their design engineers, Pflueger just moved from Ohio to South Carolina, but day-to-day operations are still run by Pflueger employees...not 'run from above' by PF. One thing I've noticed is that when PF buys a company, they pretty much just let it run itself with some oversight - they don't come down on it like an 8kTon gorilla and make drastic changes.
  15. This even works on my canoe...didn't catch the vid yesterday, but set the trailer and just with the TM I powered the canoe onto the trailer...easy-peasy.
  16. Got that right - just Minnetonka alone has 16 tournaments scheduled for this open-water season - that's 3 a month.
  17. I tried Verizon for a year - went back to AT&T when the contract with V was up...there were places I couldn't get a signal from V...I've never had a 'signal not found' from AT&T. That includes a place I use to go to a gathering in 'no-where Kansas' - everyone wanted to borrow my phone because I had signal and they didn't (Verizon, Sprint, etc).
  18. The worse part of their backorder policy is that they won't ship any until all are in stock. Ran into that this past year - two items were backordered, one came in just a couple weeks after the initial shipment - but the other kept getting put off further and further...and they wouldn't ship the first until they had the second on hand to ship. Finally canceled the one that kept getting it's expected date shoved out - and they shipped the other one...I'd found the one they couldn't get in stock (for what ever reason) at three other places.
  19. I've been with AT&T for 26 years - three flip-phones and two smart phones and I still have the same number I started with. Latest upgrade, we even ditched the land-line and the wife's phone is our old home-number...so no running around telling everyone and his brother that our main number changed. Of course I've always gotten my new phones through AT&T, so I dunno what they have against buying a phone direct - it's just a SIM card that you need really.
  20. Should have wished me luck North Arm: Surface temp 65-67 (7am-10:30am) Wind: 10mph (average) S-SW Mostly cloudy turning mostly sunny by the time I was off the water. Fish caught: 1 dink bass (maybe 10", I didn't measure it) That was it - had sunnies following everything I threw, but no takers and no other bass even sighted.
  21. I got bad teeth - I don't trust them that much. I do the 'around the pinky' method Luke showed in the Salt Strong vid - works fine for me.
  22. Vise-grips and around the leg works for you, so it works. Long as you have tension it's fine...you could even just sit on the grips if need be..
  23. Except that different people have different ideas of what's the best way to set the spool tension. How I set mine may not be how you set yours. Making it harder to adjust, IMO, is just a pain.
  24. If you're talking the vid from Salt Strong where Luke shows the pinky-finger method - ya, that's the one I use now for my FG tying. What ever way you find to get the tension on the braid, go ahead...it's a great main-leader knot and works on everything from my 50# PP/15# AbrazX to my 10# 832/6# InvizX
