  1. Ya - that's the sort of thing that can cause you to lose your license for the year as well as a possible fine...they're not dunderheads.
  2. Years - maybe lifetime if you're a casual fisher.
  3. Any bass, northern, muskie, walleye or sauger you catch has to be immediately returned - no measuring, no photo-ops...nada. Panfish, rough-fish are still legal to catch - all the boats out up to tomorrow are usually targeting crappie. Accidental catches are fine - but if it's becoming a 'habit' to catch bass and a DNR-EO or County deputy sees it - you'll be asked to change locations to stop catching the non-legal fish.
  4. Partially disassemble - the carbontex will be black, oiled-felt will be off-white. You can also look at the specs online - Shimano calls it 'Cross Carbon Drag'...that's carbontex.
  5. Couple places that might have your parts. http://boats.iboats.com/dealers/manufacturer/procraft_boats.html Other than that, I got no idea.
  6. Don't forget the lutefisk...gotta do something with all those eelpout.
  7. That's what they tried for - but since the water temp in many lakes is just now hitting spawning temp...it's not quite right. Maxwell Bay in Minnetonka JUST hit 60 yesterday.
  8. Depends on the price-point of the reel. I've got reels that came with them, and others from the same manufacturer that didn't. Carbontex isn't a brand - it's a material...carbon infused fibers. Pic of some carbontex washers I cut out of a sheet - one of the original felt washers is the off-white one under the caliper dial.
  9. Think of us then, man - 10 weeks between close the end of Feb and open the middle of May.
  10. We're working on it - use to be the walleye and northern guys had a 2-week head start on us bass-heads...they finally opened C&R for bass to coincide with the walleye/northern opener...which is this coming Saturday.
  11. I won't even get out till Monday - if I'm lucky...don't whine too much, Chris.
  12. Oh Ned was fishing that style long before the Zero made an appearance. His writeup on the history of the 'Ned Rig'. https://www.in-fisherman.com/editorial/history-of-midwest-finesse-fishing-and-the-socalled-ned-rig/375073
  13. And there's a number of countries where largemouths were introduced that are now trying to eradicate them because they're negatively affecting native species of fish. http://www.kenschultz.com/blog-reel-speak/the-invasive-largemouth-bass
  14. ^ Ya, I'm confused too. Jika, Tokyo - both are just 'high tech' versions of the bubba-shot...no advantage that I see.
  15. Last time I was out in the canoe, saw something floating. Current/wind was pushing it towards me, so waited. Dead bass on a hook, bright orange bobber. Pulled up the line and retrieved a 13 Snitch/Decent ice combo. I put a notice up on the local Next-Door board in lost-and-found the same day...no one's claimed it.

  17. I'd be happy with the one - mine doesn't even like to fish.
  18. Oh for someone experienced in electronics, it is. I could do it - I've designed, laid out, and etched my own PC boards...so I know the routine.
  19. That'd take some impressive soldering work...not to mention figuring out which ones to series-link and which ones to parallel-link.
  20. Is there something you're not telling us, pal?
  21. Could be a goldfish that got loose - or just a bright carp. Goldfish, koi, carp - all the same family.
  22. Uh - no... best you can do for such a short space is a slimline AGM that you can lay on it's side. But those suckers start around $600 for a decent one.
  23. Ummm - one guy at the third place could be mistaken for Matthau if you squint.
  24. Regarding rod breakage... The only rod guaranteed not to break...is the one that's not used.
  25. Looks like a golden shiner
