  1. A 30 in Pflueger is about 2500 for everyone else...so you're in line.
  2. Okay - using those parameters. 39-1/2" to 40" - can't close it down anymore than that.
  3. I thought standard fish measurements were from front of closed jaw to fork of tail? With that in mind - 37-1/2" to 38". If I'm wrong in that...then let me know.
  4. Two separate orders - Siebert and TW...yes, the items are related. Hope they make it there on time.
  5. I've lived by Minnetonka for over 34 years - fished it off-and-on that entire time...I still feel like a newbie some days...never like an expert.
  6. Note that it's mostly Sci-Fi... http://www.starshipmodeler.net/talk/index.php
  7. I normally use a 1000 reel on a L/F for Ned, my other finesse rig is a 2500 on a ML/F.
  8. Ya - I do scale modeling during the winter, and one site I belong to made me cancel/not re-subscribe to the three magazines I'd depended on for years. The people there are just that good.
  9. If you're using FireFox - this is how my 'Clear History' is set for maximum benefit while getting rid of extraneous information.
  10. Now I gotta go do research on my 'victim'.
  11. At the rate I go through things...I may have 5-years worth in my box.
  12. We're kind of in the same boat here - even though there's a thin sheet of ice on the lakes locally.
  13. Rod #3 just arrived - this is replacing a Diawa Laguna MH/F
  14. Now's the time to do it...TW's 25 days of Christmas sale has started. Day 1 is 30% off all Seaguar - including Smackdown.
  15. I got a spool of Smackdown as a gift that I'll be using on a spinning reel and I've noticed that it is definitely more supple than either PP or 832. MUCH smoother than the PP. Next year (when I have money again), I'll probably upgrade my two braid BCs to Smackdown.
  16. You can always put some backing on it in either case. I'm doing that with my President-25 (before the changes) even though it's rated as 'Braid Ready Spool'. I'll double down on this. I've got two Trions and they've actually been very good reels for the money.
  17. Some places still have the Striker 7 available? I got mine from Cabelas for that 299, but I figured at that price, places would have sold out quickly. Upgrading the canoe from a Hook 2-4.
  18. @5/0 - or anyone else. Found a place that has near the same item. 1-7/16 high, 7/8 diameter with a pop-top (9ml size). $0.17 each for small quantities. https://www.berlinpackaging.com/clear-polystyrene-plastic-vials-with-cap/
  19. Little above that ($270) - Garmin Striker 53CV https://www.walmart.com/ip/Garmin-Striker-Plus-5cv-5-Inch-CHIRP-Fishfinder-with-CV20-TM-Transducer/876922296?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1395
  20. I use to work at a place that did electronics assembly. Those little pop-top containers held crimp-pins for contacts. They usually just tossed the containers in the trash...I hauled a bunch of them home. They're 1.5" tall, 1" diameter at the cap.
  21. Just make sure to dilute it - when I was 'fixing' scale models that needed re-work, I'd strip the paint off using Simple Green full strength. Drop the model in, let it sit for a couple days, and the paint would almost just slide off with no harm to the styrene. Diluted and rinsed off fairly soon, it shouldn't do any damage to any part of the reel.
  22. S.G. is what I use for all my cleaning - though I do a soak-and-swish in alcohol to get any remaining S.G. after...just to be sure.
  23. I've got the BPS 370 box for my terminal tackle. Lots more possible compartments than the Plano 3700 (46 vs 24). I've not had 'migration' issues with it as the dividers seem to seal down quite well. To get this many compartments, need to buy 2 boxes as like with several Plano boxes, they don't supply enough dividers to make all the possible compartments and they don't offer 'spare' dividers.
  24. Okay - Tonka - https://freshwater.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Ice_Out_HistoryChart_2020.pdf Last five years is kind of all over the board April 2, 2020 April 20, 2019 May 5, 2018 March 27, 2017 March 17, 2016 Given the weather we've been having and the long-range forecast from the CPC predicting near-normal temps this winter.... I'm going with April 12 for Tonka.
  25. Open door anytime, Mike. Family always comes first.
