It's all about personal preference - especially when you get into the high-end rods Diawa Dobyns G. Loomis Megabass St. Croix All those, when at the upper ends, are considered good brands. There's a minor difference in weights, balance and feel - so it's up to you to test them to find which works best for you.

I think the worst job I did was rebuilding the carb on my old Charger SE. Carter AVS - those things were a pain in the rumpus. Oh - found a pic of mine - no more grabbing a shot from the inter-webs. Just remember - it wasn't all that long ago that bass didn't open at all until the end of May. Took some fighting with the DNR to open it for C&R when walleye/pike season opened.

Hard to fish a crankbait when there's 'hard water'. For me, season ends when it's just too cold to take the canoe out. Season starts when it's legal to catch bass again - from the end of February to the 2nd Saturday in May, it's illegal to target bass here. Yes - there are pre-drilled holes in the mounting base. Screw or bolt on.

It can either be mounted vertically or horizontally - the base allows you to come in from the top or the side.

I picked up the Scotty mount - several reviews rate it higher than the YakAttack. https://www.fishusa.com/Scotty-Kayak-Sup-Transducer-Arm-Mount-For-Post-Mounts So now, instead of the transducer being on the TM - it'll be slightly in front of where I sit...so I see what's actually under me instead of what I've passed over already.

I know it looks like standard Clown paint-scheme. But all the Clown Rapalas I've seen have been 'flat'. This thing is 'glittery'...and the length/weight doesn't match up either.

Well, I have limited fishing time...I may personally map the areas I fish - just as a check...but having maps to start with is a time saver.

It doesn't have maps built in - but it does have Wi-Fi. Hook it up through that to the Active Captain app and you can download maps people have shared. All the local lakes I fish are there - so I'm good.

Well - relatives gifts are already in...didn't get the Striker 7SV...so pulled the trigger at Cabelas and have a 7CV on it's way to me.

Most of these are without hooks (see 'group pic' on previous page) so it's the base weight. If one had hooks, I 'rounded down' a bit.

I even held it under my lighted magnifier - no imprint at all on the lip This is 3/16 with no hooks Hmmm - Rapala's site says the HJ-06 is 2-1/2" I don't this this is a Rapala - though the body shape and lip placement look right for a Husky Jerk

Could be - the basic shape is the same, lip shape is the same - though the 3rd down left one is larger - and it seems to have the same type of rattle-channel. Though the paint (where there is paint) appears WAY duller than normal for LC lures. 2nd down left one is a different shape, lip placement, etc.
