  1. A thousand blessings on you and yours, Sahib!
  2. There's a reason I still have spinning rigs...and it's not just for finesse fishing.
  3. I had the same idea one time. Took my Ugly Stick medium, put my Trion-30 on it and checked it. Three casts later I pulled the Trion off the US and put it back on my Aird-X. medium..near the same price and the Aird-X is head-and-shoulders better than the US.
  4. (Pulls his head out from under his pillow) Whines, "Is 2020 over yet?"
  5. Send those prices up here Diesel - $2.59+ Ethanol Free - $2.79+ Heck, our 87-Octane/10% ethanol is $1.99
  6. Lucky you...hope your soon-to-be also fishes.
  7. A little more digging - and it seems the color pattern is an 'Irish Special'. Found this listed on EBay. Different lure, but identical pattern.
  8. I don't think so - as I said, the second one's stats don't match a Shad Rap. Another thing to note - these both have rattles...my current Shad Raps don't. This one - 3" 7/32 oz Shad Raps Rapala Shad Rap 05 3/16 oz 2” Rapala Shad Rap 06 1/4 oz 2-1/2” Rapala Shad Rap 07 5/16 oz 2-3/4” Rapala Shad Rap 08 3/8 oz 3-1/8” Rapala Shad Rap 09 9/16 oz 3-1/2”
  9. I got a fair number of crank/jerks that I recieved that I can't specifically identify. I'll start slow with a couple and see what pops up First up - a pair that look like older/younger siblings. Shape, style, color is identical - but one is 2" long and 5/32oz, second is 3" long and 7/32 oz. They LOOK like Shad Raps, and the imprint on the lips both say 'Rapala Ireland', but I've never seen this exact color pattern...looks close to Firetiger, but is 'more'. The smaller one's length/weight is good for a Shad Rap, but the longer one doesn't match up. Anyone got an idea?
  10. That IS an idea - could rig the hookless ones up with a couple centering pins. Something to think about...
  11. Those who are willing - put up gifts you've received from other members here. I'll start off - this was from @OkobojiEagle, the 'box of cranks/jerks for shipping cost' he offered. In all that - there was only one dupe of something I had...a 3/8oz Z-Man original chatterbait in black. Yes, quite a few are missing hooks - but I was warned of that and have replacement hooks/split-rings coming to me already. Mostly Rapala, but a couple Lucky Craft, some Heddon and Smithwick. Some I still haven't identified, but most have been 'logged' into my spreadsheet. This was a much appreciated influx as it more than doubled my Jerkbait collection and almost doubled my Crankbaits. Thank you again so much for this.
  12. Yep - no more than two hooks/lures per rod...and they have to be within 9" of each other as measured from hook/lure-junction-hook/lure. Though I COULD do the 4-fluke rig...if two of them are hookless...which kind of defeats the purpose.
  13. That'd be cool - except it's illegal in MN. Double-rig is best that's allowed here.
  14. I don't know of any baitcaster that can swap the handles. Under the side-plates, the two sides are totally different. Handle side has the gears, non-handle side has the brakes. You'd have to get all new internals to swap sides - might as well just buy a left-handed reel.
  15. Winter is on it's way here - just a reminder from the MN-DNR
  16. Can I get in on that deal?
  17. Using a jig on the rig changes...dunno what you'd call it then. But IF I was to use a jig...1/64 crappie jig...maybe as heavy as 1/32. Don't want to have the action changing too much, and heavier jigs would completely change how this rig works.
  18. In that case - the TP1 MH would be able to handle it.
  19. The thing you have to worry about - punching with a 1oz weight isn't '1 ounce'. You need to add the weight of the hook and the plastic to that. The plastics I use for punching weigh between 1/3 to 1/2 ounce - so you're actually tossing 1-1/3oz to 1-1/2 oz. That's above the 'recommended' range of the TP1 jig rod. I would either get the TP1 for the T-Rigs and Jigs only and skip the punching for now - or add a second rig like the TP1 Heavy for your punching.
  20. Is the braid the only line on the reel? One issue with most braids is that they slip on the spool. Putting some mono backing on the spool under the braid usually corrects this issue.
  21. Dunno why the confused look, buddy. I don't have cable or satellite anymore - divested myself of that years ago. Even when I did, I avoided Fox like the plague due to their views being diametrically opposed to my own - mainly their 'news'.
  22. Would be - if I watched TV...or even drug myself down to watch Fox.
  23. Ya - Google Earth Pro. Few years ago they had a special...get Pro for free. I did, so I have the 'premium' version. I've looked back at various things...once for someone here who wanted to see his own waters at different times.
  24. I hear you there, pal. I think I re-organized my boxes/bags half a dozen times last winter. Probably be the same this winter as I determine the optimum scheme for my lures/plastics this winter with all the additions I've made/will be making.
  25. Well, these are spinners - the difference in retrieve rate is purely due to spool size as they're both 5.2:1 gear ratio.
