  1. I dunno - I've tried other services over the last 25 years (yes, I've had a cell that long...same number even) - and I keep going back to ATT...even paying the early termination penalty to get away from the others a couple times.
  2. Just one rig. 7'0" Heavy/Fast rod. 50# braid with 12# YZH leader.
  3. http://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.com/i-boating-fishing-web-app/fishing-marine-charts-navigation.html#11.63/36.3829/-96.1958 https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#boating@9&key=i``}Eb`_jQ Either one will let you zoom in-out and move around for more detail
  4. Unless that's a #4 or #5 Aglia - I'm with DVT. 10gm is 11/32oz (about 5/16), 30gm is just over 1oz. A #3 Aglia is only 1/4oz. You want a Medium or Medium-Light to properly toss a #2-#3, Light or Ultra-Light for a #0-#1. That rod looks to be a Medium-Heavy - more suited for jigs, chatterbaits and jig-head spinnerbaits.
  5. Oh - every .03125 is 1/32nd 1gm is about 1/32, 8gm is about 9/32 - just over 1/4oz Sounds like an Ultra-Light rod to me.
  6. Calculator on your phone/tablet/PC - Divide grams by 28.5 There's 28.5 grams in one ounce.
  7. I'm using a slightly modified Ironton PWC trailer I picked up from Northern Tool. The mods? Took out the 5' forward run and replaced it with a 10' - matched up holes, drilled, and then a coat of Rustoleum Primer/Paint. Then added a forward roller I got off Amazon
  8. As my arsenal is 5 BCs and 5 Spinning - I'll save my money...I currently do all my skipping with spinners anyway.
  9. Frogs, buzzbaits over thick weeds, pitching, bubba-shot into the lily-pads. If I'm purposefully tossing into moderate to thick weeds, I'm using my 8.1:1.
  10. You got details of what this does for the reel - I've read quite a bit about SV reels and still am no closer to understanding the advantages. Wouldn't a BFS spool for a CT give you the same thing?
  11. I'd be interested in hearing what the supposed advantages of the SV over the CT are.
  12. Glad to know someone up here had a great year. Nice fish there, dude. In my situation, I don't get to take the canoe out unless we have someone to come keep the wife company - she's mostly disabled and needs assistance for certain things. With the Covid-19 thing going on, I only was able to get out 6 times all year...and 3 short shore trips. Best of the year was under 2# for bass, 3.5# for pike, and no panfish keepers at all. Hopefully next year will get me out more.
  13. Just realize - the group numbers refer to physical size and weight as well as power capacity. Yes, they have higher AH ratings, but being bigger in all aspects is an important consideration in an inflatable.
  14. I use diluted Simple Green on my canoe...effective and totally biodegradable. It's pretty much the only cleaner I use on everything around the place.
  15. If you want grease on the worm gear (I'm assuming that's the level wind on a BC), use a THIN grease...not a gear grease. I personally oil the level wind. If that's the worm gear on a spinning reel...then by all means use the grease.
  16. Good choice - I use Abu grease for now...until I run out. But between Eagle Claw and Penn...I'd have gone for the Penn.
  17. Best bet at BPS would be a Starting Series 550 - if they have any in stock...currently show Out Of Stock. Better bet in Tulsa is a Duracell group 24 Deep Cycle at Batteries Plus - $100 + $18 core charge. 75AH will run your Go-Boat most of the day as long as you keep that Endura 30 to speed 3 or less. At Speed 5, that Endura pulls 30amps - so a 75AH battery will last 2.5 hours if you drain it completely...but you don't want to do that to a lead-acid battery - so 2 hours would be the max I'd run it for...that's continuously of course. I have an Endura 30 on my Canoe, and a group 24, 75AH battery. Just getting me to spots and anchoring while I'm casting, it lasts me an entire trip which runs 4-5 hours.
  18. I only have braid on two of my BC rigs - none on any of my spinning rigs. So 2 of 10 rigs (13 if you include the shore-fishing rigs) have braid...rest are mono or hybrid.
  19. First year I had the canoe, it was kept outside all winter long, upside down on a pair of saw-horses, covered with a tarp to keep the sun off. Same polyethylene they make kayaks out of. No problem. Now I keep it in the garage on the trailer. Temp differences aren't going to hurt it...and it gets well below zero here some nights.
  20. @Glenn - only issue I have. When I click on 'Go to first unread post' it almost never takes me there - it plops me in a random spot on that page but always on a post that I've already read...sometimes a couple before the first unread...sometimes WAY before the first unread.
  21. Na - crayfish and the chubs will be fine together. Crayfish normally feed on things that fall to the bottom, including dead fish...won't go after the live ones.
  22. 1 - Is that lid on tight or just resting? If it's on tight - remove it and just place it on...need the airflow. 2 - Ya, they'll thump the lid, but they can't get up enough speed to really hurt themselves doing that. 3 - If you want a drain for it - check wine making shops and get one of these - https://fermentaholics.com/product/fermenter-easy-on-off-spigot-with-lock/?utm_source=Google Shopping&utm_campaign=Fermentaholics General Feed&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=18412
  23. I do have to admit - my inspiration came from two people here @Goose52 And @Fishing Rhino
  24. Being on early retirement and fixed income, I had to get something I could afford...even still it's taken 3 years (including a bit more this coming winter) to get it rigged 'just so'. On a $1000/year budget that includes rigs, tackle and canoe - it gets a bit tight. But it gets me on the water...
  25. I think it also depends on the water. I've eaten LMBs caught in Minnetonka and they were actually pretty good. 2#-3# seems the best - large enough to get a meal off one, young enough that they haven't 'aged' to the mushy/muddy point yet. Haven't caught any walleye in years, northerns I toss back no matter what...never liked them, good size sunnies and crappies are good - but haven't caught any decent size the past two years. Only trout place close enough for me to fish is a stocked lake, and they disappear fairly quickly after the stocking.
