  1. Mine's a little later - the 20th.
  2. Considering you probably have boxes stuffed into every nook-and-cranny you can find - I probably would believe it.
  3. And since 'permanent' ice-houses have to be off the lake by Sunday - Minnetonka can thaw out any-time now. Come on 'Tonka - I WANT ICE-OUT.
  4. I've been a Rapala fan for 40+ years - haven't seen a reason to change yet. Perch and the classic Silver top the list.
  5. Any clue? This old eye can't tell what they are exactly. And my rigs aren't fancy either...so don't worry it.
  6. Starting the reel maintenance and I found out why my 'cheap' BC was so cheap. One of the gears lost a couple teeth and the plastic piece that's part of the mechanism to return the thumb-bar to lock position was cracked, so that wasn't working. Browsed Amazon and found a President XT for $47 - ordered and it's on it's way.
  7. This year it'll be 9 rigs - 4 spinning, 5 baitcasting. One 3700-bag with 5 boxes, Terminal, Jerk/Topwater, Crank, Spinner/Chatter/Buzz, and Jigs - and one 3600-bag with 7 boxes of plastics divided up by type and some more packages in the side pockets.
  8. Better you than us - we're having actual melting going on here...well, not today - but we've lost a couple inches of snow-pack this past week...and more warmth (40+) coming.
  9. Well, home situation...wife likes early-bed, early-rise...and since I'm her PCA, means I do that too.
  10. I'll spill the beans... It messes with our sleep schedules and for us old, retired gents - that's a major pain. Waking up when it's still dark out is NOT something I like. Ban Daylight Savings Time - it's a pain in the rump.
  11. These small, light-weight trailers aren't designed for booking down the highway. Even my PWC one is only rated to 55mph.
  12. Ya - Amazon or Northern Tool. Ironton has been around a while and from my experience makes a quality product.
  13. If nothing else - Northern Tool also has utility trailers just like the Harbor Freight ones. Little more expensive, but they're Irontons, so they also come with title.
  14. Last job I had before I retired - we had 2 weeks a year of PTO...it wasn't separated into Vacation, Sick or 'General'. Since I rarely get sick, I used it all for a day or two off here and there since the wife and I never took away-vacations.
  15. The trailer was brand-new from Northern Tool - it's the Ironton PWC trailer - $560 normally - got it on sale for $510.
  16. Jet-ski trailers lend themselves to all sorts of mods. That's what I got, and modded it by changing out the 5' main bar for a 10' and adding a front roller - making it a 15' trailer for my 14' canoe. $600 and a few hours work vs $1100 for a canoe specific trailer...a no brainer.
  17. I run 20# Power Pro on my President - my main single-hook, moving bait rig...spinners/chatters/buzz. If you do go that low, be sure to spool it on relatively tight...loose coils on the spool will allow dig-in.
  18. Exactly - and yes, @papajoe222, I'm an old-fart too...just I worked in IT for 40 years so I know things.
  19. Most of my need for pliers is fulfilled by a pair of Avens Technik 5.75 inch If the fish swallowed the lure, however, I resort to my compound, long-reach pliers.
  20. Ya, I was gonna ask if you ran a VPN - I have to turn mine off to visit their site...which is why I rarely do it anymore.
  21. Should be fine - one of my two ML rigs has a 30 size.
  22. Off the top of my head? SLX 8.2 on the XH/F Caenan 6.3 on the MH/Mod Curado 70 7.2 on the Med/Mod Last two - either/or the MH/F and M/F
  23. The 4x does, but I have the base 4 model which doesn't.
  24. Since my Hook-2 doesn't have maps much less GPS - I run the I-Boating app on the tablet. Gives me 1' contour maps of the lake with GPS tracking. I can even record my trips and set waypoints. Here's the 'track record' from 31 July this past year - when I caught the bass in my profile pic.
  25. Little vid of me soldering the battery ends on the wires to power the fishfinder, tablet and camera Cut out most of the boring parts
