  1. Doesn't make you any less weird though. (Yes, I talk to myself on the water too.)
  2. I don't care that mine is slightly uncomfortable and sometimes gets 'in the way'. When I'm on the water...I'm wearing it (see my profile pic).
  3. This cannot be stressed enough - whether it's a Yak, canoe or full boat. You never know what's going to happen on the water and a PFD is the only thing between you getting home or you drowning.
  4. During the season, they stay lashed down in my canoe...which is garaged. Once the season is over, the reels come off and they're hung on padded ceiling hooks in my 'man-cave' while the reels are stored in a foam-lined drawer.
  5. What back seat? I took out the one in my extended-cab...use it for interior cargo space.
  6. Wuss...I got two the beginning of the 90's...then never had the money to get the others I wanted.
  7. I worked for them for a while back in the mid 2000's. Good company, good people working there...it was a temp job. For anyone who saw the Tonight Show with Jay Leno...the one where he showed off the 3-D printer he used to make parts for his cars...that was a Stratasys printer.
  8. There's a whole thread on I-Cast 2019 already. Has posts about the new releases.
  9. Standard rigging is just to 'skin' the point of the hook. Put it in the worm as shallow as you can manage while still keeping it covered. When you set the hook, the point pops right out of the plastic to embed in the bass' mouth.
  10. Which is exactly the reason I went with a canoe this time. I've owned a boat in the past and it was more trouble than it was worth to me.
  11. Probably - I fiddle with it every time I change a lure, take a test cast, then adjust the brakes for max-distance/min-backlash chance. Don't forget that thumb either.
  12. My question is - are they going to have the 'specialty' boxes in 3600 size? That's the size I use.
  13. I'm just shuddering at what the price of those is going to be...my wallet is already screaming in agony.
  14. Looks as good as mine - this is the day I picked it up from the dealer just over 2 years ago.
  15. The only way I was able to afford the canoe, trailer and new gear was through Christmas presents. Every year my parents give me, my wife, my sister and her husband $1000 checks with the notation "For fun only". We're not allowed to use the money for bills or living expenses. 2-1/2 years of that is what enabled me to do a complete upgrade...otherwise I'd be bank fishing with 30+ year old equipment and lures.
  16. Ya, my '01 is the same way. When I got it in 2017 with 197k already on it, the previous owner had taken such good care of it that CarFax valued it at +$1000 over KBB. Of course I snatched it up - using the insurance money from my previous truck (the other driver was found at fault).
  17. Surprised that not everyone has the disposable income to afford more than one vehicle?
  18. Well, when you can only afford to have one vehicle, you get one that's multi-purpose.
  19. 2001 Chevy Silverado LS, Extended Cab. More than enough 'oomph' to tow my canoe as it's equipped with the towing package.
  20. I'm going to offer a third alternative - modified canoe. Here's my rig.
  21. 6 - not much of a fan of Opera. Someone commented elsewhere that 'Big Band' was the Devil's Music - if so, I'm going to enjoy my time 'down below'.
  22. Given my experiences with them - a Fuego CT for $50 or less...or a President for almost free.
  23. See now that sucks - in MN the age for free hunting/fishing is 90. Maybe we live longer here?
  24. Ours is more expensive - $522 for a lifetime sports license (fishing and small-game hunting) if purchased before they're 3 years old.
