Why I fish but do not hunt since age 12.
I dunno about froze over, but I heard a rumor that Mephistopheles ordered a pair of snow-shoes from REI.

Why I fish but do not hunt since age 12.
Only reason I don't hunt anymore is that I'm a right-hand shooter and I lost my right eye a few years ago. Tried learning to shoot lefty...just couldn't do it. Before the loss, I was a rabbit/squirrel/grouse/pheasant hunter. Shot only what I would eat, and ate everything I shot.

Anyone seeing changes in Cabelas stores that they've been to?
You could throw some of those points my way...I've got a few items on my Cabelas wishlist.

Good thing you ate it before it ate you.

Boat,Motor,Trailer,Total Weight
Since the 2007 Tacoma is only rated to tow 3500 - trade that in on a Silverado...even a used one. My 2001 with the towing package is rated to 11,000.

Question...Which normal priced setup casts farther ? Spin or bait ?
Given my experiences with both BC and Spinner rigs, I'd have to say - either. True I don't try to achieve orbit with my casts, 90%+ of all my tosses are side-arm lobs. And the casting distance with either is close enough to the same to make no difference. It's all about the right line on the reel, and with BCs - making sure your tension and brakes are set properly for the lure you're using.

#1 - Down Boy! #2 - Personally? Meh...now if it was Ashley Graham sitting there --- (HOWLS!)

What is a popular opinion you disagree with?
Well count me in the minority as well. I try to hold the fish as close to me as I can. Case in point is my profile pic...the bass is only a couple inches in front of my hat's brim.

Baitcaster/Spinning Reel
Cast with my left, reel with my right...no matter if it's a BC or Spinner.

We have a company here that services septic systems and the porta-potties for construction firms and the ones the state puts out near shore-fishing spots. Like all commercial trucks they have the weight limit on the side...but they had a little fun with it. "xx VERY gross tons"

Biodegradable plastics?
You'd have to get the license from Cargill/Dow as their jointly developed formulation is the most 'successful' of the biodegradable plastics. Good luck dealing with that pair of 8-ton gorillas (Dow everyone knows, Cargill is the second largest privately owned corporation in the world.)

My turn to fight the Big "C"
Going on 4-1/2 years since my right eye was removed due to cancer (Choroidal Melanoma). Regular checkups are a lifesaver and a positive attitude does wonders. Keeping good thoughts for you on your journey through this.

Hookset troubles with a medium action?!
If you're fishing in the 'slop', then a MH would be the minimum I'd use. I use a H/F when tossing in the cabbage and I'm planning to get a MH rig this winter...and yes, I'm in MN as well. Another thing to check is the sharpness of your hooks. Touching them up regularly isn't just a good idea, it's almost mandatory.

Upgrading spin gear set up
Out of my personal budget...my Finesse rig is the Avocet RZ-2000 on an 6'6" ML/F Avocet rod.

Star Trek: Picard
Searching around I found another Trek series from CBS that already has four episodes out. Star Trek: Short Treks. One episode has Ensign Spock under Capt. Christopher Pike stuck in a turbolift with Number One...originally played by Majel Barrett...played by Rebecca Romijn.

Fishing rod and reel combos
I have 5 rigs as well 1) 7' Heavy/Fast rod with 8.1:1 baitcaster loaded with 50# Power Pro - flip, pitch, punch, frog, top-waters to 1.5oz 2) 6'6" Medium/Fast rod with 7.5:1 baitcaster loaded with 20# Power Pro - T-Rigs, spinners, chatters, buzzbaits 3) 6' Medium/Moderate rod with 6.1:1 baitcaster loaded with 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid - Crank/Jerkbaits (this is one I just tossed together from a 'cheap' reel and a rod I had hanging around) 4) 6' Medium/Fast rod with spinning reel loaded with 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid - Wacky, Neko, in-line spinners, weightless worms 5) 6'6" Medium-Light/Fast rod with spinning reel loaded with 8# Suffix Super 21 mono - Finesse rig: Drop-shots, ned rigs Depending on how #3 works for me, I'll be upgrading that to better equipment and relegating that rig to something else. Rod on #4 WILL be upgraded from the Ugly Stick it now is.

Star Trek: Picard
Two more Homages DS-9 episode 'Blood Oath' had three Klingon characters from TOS - Kor, Kang, Koloth - make appearances...all three played by the same actors that played them in TOS. Voyager Episode 'Flashback' has Janeway joining Tuvok in his memories...of his time on Excelsior under Capt. Sulu during the events of 'Undiscovered Country'.

Star Trek: Picard
Also a TNG episode paid homage. 'The Naked Now' was a reprise of the TOS episode 'The Naked Time'

Upgrading spin gear set up
Personally - I'd stick with the Pflueger/Diawa rig...a Supreme XT-30 will run about $150. Add a ML/F Diawa Tatula Elite rod for $180 and you've got a great finesse/light lure setup for about $330

Star Trek: Picard
I grew up on TOS, got a crush on Nichelle Nichols when I was 7 that hasn't gone away Big fan of TNG and Voyager, not so much with DS9 or Enterprise. Tried watching Discovery and the changes they made left a bad taste in my mouth. Don't even mention Abrams to me. Fan productions - ST:Continues, Farragut and Phase-II are well done and I enjoy them. ST:Picard looks good and I'm looking forward to it.

The latest sale thread
I've bought most of my new rods through Amazon, but I make sure that the fulfiller is a reputable company. The one's that are fulfilled by Evike are in thick tubes with bubble-wrap around the entire rod.

Fishing Long Pants?
Plain old Wrangler Cargo Pants in light tan.

Drop Shot setup
I do drop-shotting on spinning gear, so here's my suggestion, If it's just a rod, Diawa Tatula XT...$99.99 at Tackle Warehouse Rod and reel, Pflueger President 30 on a Diawa Aird-X rod...$114.98 total at TW.
