topo map
Depending on the scale, yes. At 1"=100', the slope could be relatively mild At 1"=20' then we're looking at a steeper slope.

Posting photos from phone?
From the FAQ: Why can't I post a pic? The file size must be less than 200k. Please reduce the file size and try again. I can't post a picture. It says the size is too large. You need to use a photo editing program like Adobe Photoshop, or whatever your computer comes with, and go to resize image. You may want to crop it for your avatar. Once you do that you can post any picture. You can also use Pic Resize (https://www.picresize.com/) You just need to locate the picture on your PC, and it's simple from there. For mobile devices, get the app Image Shrink Lite for Android and iOS.

Cartop Loading Kayak
I'll probably get 10', make it a bit longer - my canoe is 14'. Advantage is that I don't have to unload anything out of the canoe. Bring it home and hand-wheel the whole thing into the garage.

Cartop Loading Kayak
Ahhh - well, as I said, I'm lazy. So getting a 9' length at the local steel shop won't be hard. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd get everything I needed to scratch-build the trailer and save some money, but I set aside enough for the trailer and an extension, and this way will be cheaper than buying a pre-made extension.

This isn't HF either - local metal supplier, this is 2x2 structural steel.

So 10 gauge - I just checked some prices and 10' of that isn't that much more than 4' plus a 2' insert. Maybe I'll go that route instead of building an extension. Under $50, and I can still do the drilling - I got the tools for that. Thanks for the tip - sometimes I try to make things more complicated than they should be.

Cartop Loading Kayak
I'm a bit lazy - so getting one with bunks already included is a plus. Though I am going to get some steel tubing to extend the length of the tongue. I have done metal work, just not welding- drilling and tapping, so it'll be an insert-tube bolted to both sections to secure it.

Labeling Your Fishing Rods/Reels With Line Size?
I have the same labelmaker. I've gone so far as to put small labels on the inside lid of my terminal box so I know at a glance which compartment has my 1/16oz bullet weights and which has my 1/4oz; which is my 2/0 EWG hooks and which is my 4/0. I'm still sorting the rest of my tackle, so haven't labeled the boxes yet. Labeling the reels will provide a second check - I already have the info in Evernote and my phone is always with me.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
He's of age, if barely. He'll actually be arrested for solicitation of an underage girl. Isn't that what all young, sports celebrities do?

Agree or Not Agree?
As much as I may admire Mr. Dance, I have to disagree with him in the main. You may be throwing Green Pumpkin Lizards and what it wants is Black/Blue Senkos. That's the only 'luck' involved...presenting what the fish wants at that time.

Rods and their colors
While I don't care one whit whether the rods are the same color, they just happen to have ended up that way. All are black in the main, but the old Berkley Enforcer for my Cardinal has some red and blue decorative piping near the reel seat and the Ambassadeur rod for my Ambassadeur reel has some red near the reel seat. We'll see if the Aird-X I ordered is the same when it comes in - hopefully tomorrow. As long as the rod functions, I really don't care what color it is...except hot pink...I wouldn't use a rod that color.

Cartop Loading Kayak
Another possibility is this one. It's rated for PWCs, but with a little work can be used for kayaks or canoes. It's the one I'm getting for my canoe, https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200612542_200612542

Best tackle box (pictures)
This is my one - so far. Cabela's Advanced Angler Tackle Bag - 3600 size, holds six boxes in the main compartment and the front pouch will hold another. Side pouches for various things. I'm happy with it as it holds all the tackle I own with room for the things I still want to get.

Jerkbait rod recommendations
Ouch. I hope when my new flipping/pitching rod comes on Monday via UPS it's in better shape. Of course, it'll be mid-May before I can use it - when bass season opens for C&R.

Mid April lake breakdown
What he said. Your best bet is to find a local tackle store - mom and pop type, not a big-box store like DSG, BPS, etc. Ask the shop owners about the lake/pond you plan on fishing. They're your best bet to get decent information.

What Would You Do?
Ya, I fished most of them when I lived up there. Also not too far is Lake George and Leech Lake. For trout I fished the Straight River in Park Rapids.

What's Everyone Using To Organize Your Soft Plastics?
I have a 3600 size tackle bag. For most of my worms/grubs/critters I leave them in the original bags and just put those in a Plano 3607 (one big slot). For others, I put each color/style in it's own baggie (Ziploc 'snack' size) and put two bags in each slot of a Plano 3606 (six slot).

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Nope, this will be the first year with them. I'll probably put them as trailers on spinners or on Ned rigs. Experimentation.
