  1. I made a mistake. I didn't realize the navionics maps all changed based on the product you selected. I purchased a platinum plus ontario map because it had black lake and another Southern Ontario lake that I fish. Holy mowly expensive at $250! What's even better is that my ethernet linked helix 10s don't share mapping. Thanks Humminbird!

It's not easy to throw on a heavy frog rod. I want to like it but seem to struggle with long casts even on mgl reels. Maybe It's just not the frog you use for long casting
  3. The blow image is what I find when looking on Navionics chart viewer, that doesn't look like 1-ft increments?
  4. I can't believe I can't find any card that has an electronic map for black lake that would work on my Humminbird helix 10s. I don't see any electronic maps for black lake, is that right ? It doesn't make sense
  5. I've gotten to the point where a jig and a big stick is just about all I want to throw. I rarely even throw a top water or even a frog anymore. It's something about the fact that you have so much influence on getting bit with how you use it. I feel like I have a lot less influence with a frog.
  6. Did you do the cutting into the fiberglass yourself? Did the standard bar fit or did the holes need to be modified?
  7. I don't believe they make a lock r bar that fits the back deck, plus, it'd be a lot of work. You'd have to cut into the boat and modify some type of existing lock r bar model.
  8. I typically keep all my tackle in the back two compartments on my 08 ranger z21. However, when traveling I'd prefer to keep them locked under my additional safety, the lock r bar. I've seen a lot of people use the big center compartment for their tackle but I really prefer to keep my rods there. It keeps them from hanging into each other. What storage solutions are out there for putting 3700 sized containers in those front left and right rod lockers?
  9. Shimanos 7'3xh inventory is on back order right now. What good alternatives are out there for this rod? 1/2oz - 2oz Fast.
  10. I really appreciate all of thought guys! Still trying to make a decision as they haven fully closed the canada border for August but I believe that inevitably going to happen
  11. I've fished my new steez bottom contact three times so I'm not ready to give a full review. Understand I'm coming from the 893 not the 894 but I knew I wanted something with more 894 power. So far, I can say the following. Sensitivity - it's hard to be the sensitivity of the 893 but that's also imo because it's just a light power rod. The steez feels plenty sensitive but most of my bites have been big largemouth that have just had a mushy weight like bite. I'm fairly new to jig fishing as well. I find myself just using the weight of the jig, slightly lifting to notice if one is there. My lake is super grassy so I have had a chance to really drag something on rock to see the feel. Balance - it floats in your hand, I'm currently using a Metanium B but you could also potentially go lighter. I love the float. Power- Holy cow power. Again, I'm coming from the 893 but knew I needed more power. This rod has got the power to really pull these fish. I've been fishing 40lb smackdown to a short 16-20lb fc100 leader. When I hook one they are coming my way and in a hurry, even a few 4.5s I've caught in the last week. Tip- the tip is soft enough to throw a 1/8 tungeston weight with a 3/0 pin grip and rage craw, I found that impressive. It loves a 1/2oz jig and appears to be able to handle a lot more weight, just haven't tried. The tip is soft yet fast if that makes sense. I've watched some videos of my jig hooksets and they aren't a powerful hookset like I usually like to do. What I've noticed is a quick reaction most likely from feeling the bite a just a slight upswing a that jig hook is buried without much effort. Overall this rod has me building confidence unlike my 893. I feel totally in control with whatever happens. Also, my understanding from a few megabass p5 xbites owners is that it's a nice rod but I've heard the butt is small and it's not anywhere near as powerful as the bottom contact steez, however, I haven't fished the x bites, just was considering one when trying to replace my 893 due to nrx availability
  12. This still hasn't been figured out. The ones above are all fantastic smallmouth lakes but I seem to suck at it lol. I'm not a tournament angler, I like Lilly pads, juice, weeds, docks, islands, stumps lol. Is there any place up north where you have a decent population of good size largemouth? Looking for a lake that has a good amount of options for 8 days. Again, we looked at going down south to chick or maybe Virginia, NC, SC? Just don't want to go south if it's so hot the fishing is rough.
  13. It's something I do have. The problem is if I get to the point that I need a jump pack to start my outboard I'm guessing my little bit of running on a small lake will not be enough to continue to run my electronics and live well for the remainder of a tournament day.
  14. Do you think that agm would be okay on my 2008 ranger four bank charger? 230 rc minutes seems about the best put there?
  15. Is there that's much difference between 155 and 200 minutes? Lol, to a battery newb it doesn't seem like much but I don't know anything. I'd prefer to not add a 5th battery especially since I like the plug and play of the four bank charger
  16. Currently looking at replacing my optima blue top 31 12vt battery, I'm not looking into adjusting my 36v setup yet. What is the biggest baddest battery I can put in there that's not absolute crazy expensive. I'm talking about lithium, not going to go that route. Also, it would need to be plug and play with my 2008 ranger 4 bank. There's a logo stating new batteries since 5/17 under my lid but I've been having issues. Honestly, my ultrex gets slow after 4-6 hours. Yesterday my outboard wouldn't start after running by livewell, two helix 10s, hydrowave, gopro stick and whatever else for about 6 hours. I was testing everything running consistently for a long period of time because we have a 4 day tournament that's all day with only two hours of charging during lunch. Currently it has a 31 bluetop, I'm wondering if a battery place should test it. I also know nothing about batteries or dual purpose ones. It looks like there's room in there if i wanted to put a bigger tray and battery. Any help is appreciated. I saw odessy and x2 recommendations.
  17. Where is this battery
  18. Berkley wake bull is good
  19. I have the 7'2 h but not the 7'4. Maybe it's just me but I couldn't see throwing anything more than a 3/4oz dressed jig on it but then again I don't like a mushy or overloaded feel. With that said I've only caught a few fish on mine. The 7'2 I believe is a fast rated to 1.5 and the 7'4 a more moderate rated to 2 oz
  20. Does anybody have any opinion on the differences between these two? My Expride 7'3XH is out for warranty replacement but is on back order. I purchased the rod for heaving frogging and light punching based on others reviews. The expride with it's XH rating is rated 1/2-2OZ while the Poison Adrena 7'4H is rated from 3/8 - 2oz which is a huge range. I have an opportunity to replace the expride with the adrena due to the adrena being in stock. What I don't want is rod that's similar to my 7'2H adrena, I'm looking for that extra power.
  21. Anymore update on this. I saw a video where jor Raymond said the handle and reel seat was a little weird. He was saying that due to the bulge it was comfortable to palm the reel? Wondering how this rod compares to the steez ags 7'5 mhh bottom contact
