  1. Lol. To each its own. Both are great. Good luck fishing. Nobody is wrong just preferences. ?
  2. I'd rate the Destroyers higher than the Z Bones and they are a much better value. Z Bones retail price are $550, the Destroyers are $399 and performance wise I prefer the Megabass. Plus, it's build quality and aesthetics are better. Best thing is to try both and see what you like. To each its own.
  3. Megabass and Shimano are hard to beat. I'd go with the XX or Expride over the Kistler offering. All my rods are Megabass, St Croix, Shimano, and G Loomis. Wouldn't change them for anything.
  4. Avoid Nissan IMO. Toyota pickups and RAM diesels is all I buy.
  5. Never heard of Witch Doctor but i'd personally buy a MBR G Loomis or Diablo Spec R
  6. Megabass makes fabulous products. I applaud what they did after a mistake. I will continue to use there products regardless.
  7. Megabass is offering to upgrade the warranty of every 2019 Levante to a 3 year warranty. Not all rods were defective, this was just a precaution. Also they said they are offering an upgrade. They have good CS. Call if you are concerned or need information.
  8. Oh I have no idea about that but they have significantly lost market share over the years.
  9. Agreed! I love all my SC rods though but it comes down to preference.
  10. I think Abu Garcia dealer stores are struggling to move there product.
  11. Asked the owner and he stated they don't build any of there blanks. They have 5 different factories build there blanks.
  12. The man I received the information from is within the industry which is why I am so intrigued. NO, Ark rod in Arkansas is whom he is referring to that manufacturers ALX blanks.
  13. I'd be curious to see a factory tour. I'm skeptical after hearing that he is using another companies blank built to his spec (not saying it's not true just curious). Found online many other people saying something similar. Very few companies manufacturer blanks especially in the US. Glad to hear you like them though. Thanks for the response LionHeart.
  14. Previously heard how Alx builds there own blanks in Aiken. I heard from a reliable source that they are in fact not at all made by ALX but instead he said hes almost certain they are produced by Ark rods. Not sure if that's true but he believes ALX blanks are manufactured by Ark then finished in Aiken. Anyone able to confirm/deny?
  15. While I understand everyone has a different preference, G Loomis and Alpha aren't even comparable in my book. I agree with Legendarybassin on this but everyone is different. G Loomis actually manufacturers their rods, where as Alpha is just taking a preexisting companies blank. Not taking anything from them but Alpha doesn't make a rod even comparable to what G Loomis/Shimano offer. Felt Alphas previously that my buddy fishes and they are good, but I wouldn't sell my current St Croix, Kistler, Megabass, Daiwa, G Loomis, and Shimano rods for them. I would fish Alphas as they are good but I think there are other rods IMO that I think are better. Everyone is different and I recommend going to you local store and seeing what you like.
  16. The Addermine is extremely versatile but not the best dropshot rod. It can do it but no my first choie. A G Loomis GLX or NRX 822 DSR will smoke the Alpha rods with performance as well as the warranty. I would stay with G Loomis, Megabass, St Croix, Dobyns, Kistler, Daiwa, or Shimano.
  17. Lol. Yall are savage ? Is there any other guys that were associated with Long? Suspected of cheating possibly?
  18. Yes sir. They fish about a power heavier than their rating.
  19. That's tough to find quality equipment at that price. If you can I would suggest spending a bit more and only get one combo. I think you'd be happy. That just my opinion. Best of luck!
  20. A 893 and Metanium MGL is money $$$$. Balance is good, sensitivity is off the charts.
  21. I love the way it feels with a Metanium MGL. The Aldebaran MGL is so amazing too but definitely think you could find a use for it whether on the NRX 893 or another rod. It makes me smile when I pick it up at my local tackle shop. A NRX 893C and Metanium MGL is heaven!!!!!
  22. I have never fished the dark sleeper so I am not sure on how they fish. The NRX 893 is one of the most loved bottom contact rods ever. It excels around 1/4 to 1/2 oz. It is awesome rod and sensitivity is hard to beat. The sensitivity leaves me smiling as I feel ever bite. For a 3/4 oz lure, I may consider the 873C CRR. The is an amazing big jig, football jigs, texas rig, and carolina rig rod. If you can swing the money the 873 and 893 are among my 2 favorite NRX models. They are so amazing and cover 90% of the bottom contact I do.
