Jordan Lee has 4 fish that weigh 26-11 !! That's what I call fishing. Would anyone rather catch 26 one pounders?

I really like the new 2lb limit. I feel like I'm watching real fishing again. They have the option to change the size limit for every tournament. I hope they keep it high.

Next time it happens, turn the unit off then start your motor. With the motor idling, turn the unit on again. The alternator should boost your voltage a little. If the problem goes away, it was probably due to low voltage. I haven't heard of this being an issue with Helix but Solix are notorious for having all kinds of strange problems when the voltage get low.

It must be a dumb idea because I do it. The Humminbird FishSmart app has the same Lakemaster maps as my Humminbird FFs. You do have to buy them though. My iPad has a much better screen than any FF on the market. I typically don't taking the iPad when it's raining or very hot. They are not designed for harsh environments. I got a new iPad recently so I'll probably take the old one out more often now. RAM makes mounts for them but I don't have one yet.

The one in the add is 2nd generation, not the latest 3rd generation. It's still a good deal with installation.

I've said it many times on this forum. You will catch more fish being great at a few things than being average at many. You can't catch every fish in the lake with one bait but who among us can catch every fish in the lake. Many tournaments, even at the highest level have been won with just a worm.

I have no experience with Helix but if this happened with my Solix, the first thing I would suspect as the cause would be low voltage. Your front unit will have slightly lower voltage than your console unit due to the length of the wiring.

A Zero Line card is a product that Humminbird sales that is just a SD card that stores recordings and also has map files with the shoreline of most bodies of water. The shoreline is the zero depth line, thus the name.

I have a 2018 RT188. I did not get the Jack Plate and do not regret it. I went with the 90HP Merc and have not regretted that either. I'm never in a hurry and very happy at 30-40MPH. If you're into getting the most performance out of your boat then consider the Jack Plate, otherwise it's a waste of money IMO. Also I have an Ultrex on mine and can't imagine life without it.

Do you have to have a special license? I know in my grandfather's day, it was illegal to be in possession of a live fox or most of the other things he trapped.

My grandfather was a trapper and I went along with him many times. He really enjoyed it and made some extra money in the process. Are pelts worth anything these days? He also had a deal where he would sell live foxes to a guy that had like 10,000 acres fenced in for fox hunters. He would catch them in rubber jawed traps and got $100 each for them 35 years ago. No, it wasn't legal.

I bought Falcon rods for years. When they stopped making them in the US, I switched to St Croix. I want to buy stuff made by real companies. Companies founded by people that love fishing that design and make what they sell. Not marketing companies that order stuff from China and have is shipped directly to amazon.com. If we want to have a real American bass fishing industry, we have to support them.

Shimano has a factory in the US where high end G Loomis rods and others brands as well are made. Kistler is made in America with North Fork Blanks also made here. Lamiglas Edge Rods

Back in my club tournament days, we always had new guys join who wanted to show the world just how good they were. When they found out that they were not as good as they thought, some of them would quit. The world is full of people like this and I don’t think making life easier for them will change anything. That said, it’s your tournament so I see no reason you can’t make a rule that says if you win x number of tournaments in a year, you can’t fish a tournament again for y months.

Put a Mud Buddy motor on a good tin boat and you can go just about anywhere.

Forrest Woods qualified for the first Bassmaster Classic. He was an angler who saw a need and created a better boat to address that need. He was an angler first! Some people are great at marketing, some are great at building things, some are great at running a business. It's the ones that are anglers first that make the greatest contribution to the sport. Same here. I've never known anyone who has fished Cordell Hull. It's a big lake, I've always wondered about it but never been there.

I suggest setting your drag with a scale or known weight to protect your rod and prevent break offs. Set the drag to about 1/4 of the maximum line weight of the rod or 1/4 of your line test which ever is lower.

I'm a little confused about what you're trying to do so you don't have to run a cord. As far as portable chargers, maybe I'm just lucky but every battery charger I have ever used met my expectations. I used a cheap Schumacher charger from Walmart for years to charge the batteries on my first boat and it worked great. You can probably get something similar today for around $40. I now use an onboard charger just for the convenience.

I agree this book is a very interesting read and has some great information. The book has one flaw that I think was unforgivable. He has a chapter "Graphite and Fiberglass on Trial" where he challenges the idea that fiberglass rods are better for crankbaits because they are less sensitive. His primary argument against the need for fiberglass rods involves numerous quotes from Rick Clunn that he says support his claim. The guy obviously didn't do his homework. I can't think of any pro that has done more to promote the use of fiberglass over graphite rods for crankbaits. Rick Clunn has said that using new graphite rods for crankbaits almost cost him the 1976 Classic. For me this mistake cast doubt on the whole book but I enjoyed reading it.

The biggest factor BY FAR that determines if I watch a tournament is the lake where the tournament is held. I prefer the BASS format but I would be more interested in watching a BPT tournament on a lake I know well. Nothing better than watching the pros fish water that I fish regularly. I don't watch Oprah either but I would watch her fish Kentucky Lake. ?
