Things that really frustrate me about some fishermen.
I saw a few guys out fishing with their kids yesterday, which is pretty rare at this place. Sure enough, they left juice boxes all over the place.

Pro Gear Vs Our Gear
This is true. I happened to spend tons more time doing other types of fishing. And I am way better at those types of fishing than I am with bass.

If I was good enough to do it. I definitely would be doing it right now.

Bass and the color blue
I know! Sometimes you can I think they do get happy, sad and mad, but you’re right they have tiny brains and aren’t that smart. So even if they see certain things better, they can still be fooled. But considering how many I catch, that’s not saying too much about me though, when I think of it....

Gave it a Shot
No fish. But there was bait activity. And to my surprise, new fry that were already not protected. This would probably be the best spawn at this location in 20-30 years. I was certain they would be bedding up or on beds now. That’s what happens once you know everything there is to know about fishing, it makes you even worse at fishing.....

- Bass and the color blue
Fish can recognize each other and can tell if other fish are happy, sad or anything else. In certain ways, they probably see certain things better than we do. It’s almost impossible to tell if a fish is a male or female from looking at their faces, than it is with people, but the fish can still tell.- Bass forage
It depends on what’s in the water with them. The worst thing for bass to be eating (if you ask me) is bluegills. I don’t think they like them as food, so they wind up eating them because they have to they become less excited about eating for life.- Pro Gear Vs Our Gear
I think pro baseball players will destroy the ball on the local players team with any bat you put in their hands and the pitchers will pitch no hitters with any baseball you put in their hands. Fishing is about the same. I have never personally witnessed anyone do as good as the pros on bass. If I had any chance of fishing like the pros, I’d quit my job tomorrow.- Baitfish color worms
The rock bass love silver.- Lockjaw Before Spawning?
Around here, I never catch any until after the spawn or when there is no spawn. I can hit the fish with lures and they usually still don’t care for a few more weeks.- Different versions of the Spook? I'm confused!
I used to be, I swear.- Why do we "mimic" fish
I like this statement, too. But figuring out what bass prefer to eat is the hard part. If anyone knows, please let me know.- Why do we "mimic" fish
Thats why I am not always the biggest fan of “match the hatch” - because the fish might be eating the hatch every day, but if there’s something rare, that they like better than the hatch, they might attack something they like better more aggressively than the hatch. It definitely works when fishing with bait, so it has to work with artificials, too.- Daiwa SS SV
It’s a great reel, especially fishing over 1oz or as modded like @NOC 1 mentioned. Please never knock a reel because it’s not a Steez.- Heavily Pressured Mud
Well I Fish these conditions, too. I do not consider it “pressured” I consider it crowded. I fish where the crowds are, at times, too. But those spots are more a matter of convenience to people who are trying to fish. Almost no one catches anything, ever. And the catches are usually under 3lbs. But there are plenty of very big fish in the water.- What made Calais DC so hot still?
There is a difference between fishing and collecting. These are nice reels. Other hot collectibles, not so much.- Heavily Pressured Mud
Do the 10-30 people catch anything? IMO, it’s not really pressured if no one is actually catching anything. It’s just overcrowded.- How do Bass react to sudden warm temps?
Bream?- Different versions of the Spook? I'm confused!
I would go as far as to say 90% of “spook” striped bass were really caught on bait. Fishermen are notorious for lying.- Different versions of the Spook? I'm confused!
Evolution. These are not good baits to fish in daylight in relatively shallow water. Unless you are night fishing for striped bass, you will be better off with almost anything else.- Fishermen harassment
if my father was a woman....- Rod Recommendation
Yes, there is a reason. Unless you’re throwing an A-Rig, you don’t need that much weight. You will get a much better presentation using under one ounce. Take any bass lure (except the big Swimbaits that were mentioned), put it in clear water, maybe a swimming pool. It shoots down to the bottom like a bullet. Having done most of my bass fishing in clear water, I see the fish pay more attention to things sinking naturally. Nothing they are looking for shoots down to the bottom like a bullet. They tend to get away from things that do that, especially if they hit a hard bottom Like rocks and make a loud noise, because the only thing throwing rocks is people. Bass pay more attention to the slow flutter of something sinking with little weight to it, like a big moth, or cicada, or a worm. Nothing they eat has four ounces of dead weight in it. You will almost never catch a bass on a dead bait, they pick up something with 4 ounces of metal on it, they’ll drop it too quick For you to ever set the hook.- Different versions of the Spook? I'm confused!
Anything that looks more like real things that live in water.- Has Anyone else not caught their first 2020 bass yet?
It’s going to be in the 40’s if not 30’s tonight. These super cold nights kill the small ponds I fish in. These fish are coming out of hibernation straight to the beds this year. I have not seen any fish activity anywhere. Haven’t even attempted it yet. - Bass and the color blue
