  1. Retired 5 years, after 36 yrs making fine grade paper, ie xerox types
  2. Jus bought the same yak and purchased a 260-280 adjustable, glad I did, 6’3” and adjust to around 268 for a full paddle. Like you probably not going to be in low position.
  3. Rope on the side is an anchor trolley. I’m 65 and comfort is paramount for me. My old yak seat height was maybe 2”, this one is around 15”.
  4. Have several Falcons that are over 20 yrs old and are still goin strong.
  5. Using 20# 832, with 8#-10# mono, 5 wraps on mono, 8 on braid.
  6. Well the end to my saga took place yesterday. I ended it with the purchase of the 127. Got a madien voyage done today. No fishing, jus paddling in a small stream nearby. Holy Cow! What a difference! Stability is unbelievable. Hope to get sum fish smell on it soon. Thanks for all the responces. You guys rock.
  7. Thanks for info guys. The Coosa I had my eye on has sold. Snooze ya loose, oh well. Thanks again.
  8. The creek that I fish the most isn’t twisty at all, average width of creek is 50 yrds mostly. The lakes I’ll probably fish are not big, 50 to 100 acres, no motors allowed on most, with weed and pad growth. The rivers are the Juniata and Susky, when the levels are not high, with that, I don’t think a pedal drive would be beneficial?? If I were to fish bigger water as some point, could always upgrade to electric. Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Any and all thoughts appreciated.
  9. Ok kayakers, old guy needs some suggestions. I’ll be 65 in less than a month. I have been fishing out of a yak, a 12’ Heritage Red Fish for 3 years. I’m 6’3” at 270#. Getting out of the redfish is getting harder to do. Stumbled on a used Jackson Coosa HD at a good price. Have had my heart set on a Bonafide 127. I fish small lakes with day trips on small creeks and rivers. $ is not the issue, wanting stable and comfort. What Say You? TIA
  10. Made a homemade one 30 sum odd years ago out of a 1/0 or 2/0 brass snap swivel, 2 old spark plugs, a length of 1/8 braid cord and short piece of a broom handle. Saved me a fortune in crankbaits. I’m guessin on snap swivel size but needs to be big enough that the gaps on old spark plugs can be put on snap end of the swivel and the gap closed. Tie on cord to the other end and to the broom handle in case it goes over board. Put snap on line and let er go, most of the time baits comes loose right off.
  11. #0000 steel wool
  12. If pitching or flippin to hard cover i usually tip a chunk. Casting to work structure I usually thread a shortened creature. Back in the day when I fished at night during the summer months I always tipped a chunk.
