Storing ZMAN baits in waterproof Plano boxes?
@RRocket you are using the customizable box. I keep a little bit of plastic in Plano boxes. Be careful with the standard boxes (the thin grey permanent walls). 1 TRD warped both walls of the compartment it was in. I couldn't believe it.

Rod Glove Products
I like the Rod Sox also. Not because I am from Massachusetts. I love their tip, I think it really takes the stress off of accidently banging your tip on things. I also love the plastic collar, it sits right where most of my hook keepers are and keeps the hooks from getting into the mesh.

Favorite movie directors....
@throttleplate Ed Wood, that's good. Loved to dress in women's clothing. Had a serious obsession with angora. Even used the stage name Ann Gora. There is a movie about his life. I like odd movies so it was pretty good. Favorite Directors? Now you are speaking my language. I don't watch much TV, but I am a movie junky. Some that have not been mentioned but are some of my favorite: John Woo Coen brothers Both Tony and Ridley Scott David Fincher

What's your opinion?
All chain restaurants have taken a steep nose dive during the past couple of years. I avoid them. Since it was already brought up a couple of times, The Olive Garden has always been a source of irritation. Massachusetts has a large Italian-American population, with that brings many privately owned Italian restaurants, often more than one in every town. When Olive Garden was really booming around here there was sometimes over an hour wait to eat. What kind of a crazy person would go to a chain restaurant pay more, wait longer, and eat frozen entrees when they can go down the street and eat authentic Italian cuisine no waiting get more and pay less? It just goes to show the power of the advertising and the media.

Ticks on my... Unmentionables...
Pun intended.

Ticks on my... Unmentionables...
I have ticks on me often. I hike with my 2 dogs almost every day, play disc golf once or twice a week. So I'm in the woods every day. picking ticks off my dogs and myself is a daily event. This year has been a dog tick year which is good. The past few years have been all deer ticks. Deer tick are tiny. I've had ticks engorged for a couple of days several times. Went to the doctor, no big deal. One day just after taking a shower I went down to the man cave to watch TV and I felt a sharp pinch on my you know what. Sure enough I felt that deer tick bite down, immediately extracted, itched for a bit. Kind of traumatic for a moment. Ticks Suck.

Tubing
So I received the micro guide bands from Mud Hole. They are very small, difficult to get on the blank because they are so small but once on the blank they are pretty awesome. You still need dental elastics as you move toward the butt of the blank. For the top six guides these seem really nice. Weather was incredible last week so I couldn't get myself to stay indoors to build a rod. This week is a different story, rain all week, good time to finish this.

SJ703 X-ray C6O2 Crooked
Interesting. I just bought and received my first NFC blank. It happened to be the straightest blank I have ever received. Had a hard time "finding" what I wanted to be the top of the rod.

Tubing
Those look pretty nice Mick. I just received the wrong or tip top, was going to reorder from Get Bit but ordered from Mud Hole and added those to my order. I have been liking the dental elastics also. I just roll on 8 -10 of them and space them out correctly and slip in the guides as I wrap them. I still wrap on cardboard boxes so I sometimes knock off the guides that aren't wrapped yet. Hard to find when they fall on the floor. Has anyone tried tip top glue to secure guides? I have seen that done and thought about trying it. Seems too permanent, and I could not figure how to perfectly align marks without a laser.

BFS Blanks
So I ended up taking advantage of the sale going on at the NFC website. I bought the SJ704-1(im), 7', 1/8-3/8oz 6-12lb line. The website lists it as a mh?? I'm banking on the lure and line ratings being relatively accurate.

Traveling with rods in a sedan
I have a Hyundai Elantra hatchback. While I don't have a problem fitting rods over 7' in the hatchback, I do put eight rods in there a lot and the rod sox are clutch. Keeps the guides ,line, and lures from hooking onto each other. Also the tips on the rod sox is awesome, it is long and takes the sting out of bumping your tip on various obstacles.

BFS Blanks
So I received some spending points from the company I work for. What did I do? I bought a Curado BFS reel. So I am looking at the Rainshadow Immortal blank IMMC73ML-TC. I believe it is the only casting blank Raishadow offers with this kind of rating. 3/16-5/8 fast action 8-17lb line. Now I understand this isn't as BFS as some of you folks are talking but this about as BFS as I need. I bought a digital kitchen scale and have been weighing rigs. I rarely throw anything under a 1/4oz. 1/16oz ned head and a TRD you are almost there, a 1/8oz ned head and a TRD and you are over. Just looking to drop one spinning combo. I will still carry one for the few times I go really light.

Adding flexcoat
Thanks guys. So my first 4 builds were really lite on the coverage. Mick, I do use the lite build. I did end up going through with my little project. I'm pretty happy, the finish work looks a little more professional now. In the end I might have ended up with a football or two, overall I feel it was worth it.

Writing on rod blanks
I was watching some of the videos on the Flexcoat website. They were using a old school pen nib holder. Like a speedball pen calligraphers use. He was dipping it in paint though not ink. I believe he was using straight Testors enamel. That guy was good, it looked like calligraphy.

How many people on here does this apply to?
With the exception of the Bass Resource forums, social media is a waste of time. Life is too short, get outside and enjoy nature.

Can soft plastics degrade line?
I have a Plano edge box. Just a standard 3600 utility box. I have 2 little pieces of Elaztech in there, a TRD and a finesse shadZ. Those tiny baits warped both dividers they were touching.

Suffix Advance Mono vs Sunline Defier Armilo
Because of WRB's recommendations, just bought a spools of the Regular Defier in 13 lb. Just spooled it onto my jerk bait rod. Also purchased some Sunline super natural in 8lb to try on one of my spinning rigs. If anyone is keeping score, Sunline is pretty much the thinnest line out there. Sunline sniper, super natural, defier and defier armillo all have the same line diameter. Maybe others, just never looked at their specs. The other line I am trying out is Pline C21 copolymer. This is also very thin line, not as thin as Sunline but very close. I fished the Pline a little bit this weekend, kind of springy, jumped off my spool a bit but eventually settled down.

Simms vs. Huk fishing boots for kayak fishing
I like the NRS Boundary boots.

Adding flexcoat
My finish work improves so much with each build. The finish work on my first couple of builds isn't great. I was trying not to create footballs and as a result, the finish work I am unhappy with is on the thin side. Can I go back and add another coat of flex coat? Is there something I should do before applying another coat?

Lets settle this once and for all. Whats the greatest western movie ever made?
I grew up watching the Magnificent Seven with my dad so I will always remember that one as an all time favorite. I do love Tombstone though, Val Kilmer and Michael Biehn are great. A few obscure ones have been mentioned. Here is a real obscure one that is really good. Dead Man starring Johnny Depp. Black and white. Figure I kind of put Depp down in the Jeff Beck thread, might as well give em some kudos in this thread.
