This is a very nice bluegill bait...
TW started carrying the clear glittery ones if the lack of color is fine for some.

This is a very nice bluegill bait...
yea but this has been out YEARS before that even was announced, FWIW.

BIOEDGE scents?
Anyone ever try them before? I am actually most interested in the frog scent in the wand form, but gotta say: "BioEdge fish attracting scents contain oils, amino acids, enzymes and pheromones all found in the bait from which they are extracted." sounds a lilll fishy haha. At least procure lets you know exactly what is going on in there! They did not respond to an email sent asking for more info about how, and what from, they are extracting these scents/oils. http://bioedgefishing.com/

Swimbait Setup???
the XH is pretty beefy and overkill if u are just tossing wake jr type baits IMO. I do like it for BBZ tho.

Swimbaits?????
get the right rod for the job, for starters!

Revo SX Question
arnt most of the higher end daiwa line mag brakes? magforce V/Z (or is it a combo brake?) like sol, luna, steez, zillion, etc etc i still dont get what this fuss is all about the revo SX/STX. I suck with baitcasters compared to the seasoned many and I can cast these things fine most of the time. I have noticed however compared to my centrifugal reels the cast knob needs to be a lil tighter as already mentioned.

Trout on wacky-rigged Senko!
wacky rig it.

Trout on wacky-rigged Senko!
Trout eat senkos ALL the time. Downsize to a 3" and dropshot it in trout-areas and you will probably outfish the powerbait dunkers a lot of the time. They also love the little panfish tubes and such type baits. They are predatory!

First MattLures Smallie !!
Nice man - now hopefully this will convince some people that 4" tubes are not "too big" for smallies lol

Night Fishing For Large Mouth.
and don't forget to try the opposite. (and everything in between) Often times, when a real meal falls into the water, it doesn't hang around, it begins to swim immediately, be it a mouse, bug, snake, whatever Yup good point - i never wait for the "rings to dissapear" and never really thought it was necessary myself. what animal that drops in the water waits to struggle?

Swimbaiting set-ups Rods,Reels,Lines
I'm no expert but I fish swimbaits pretty much 98% of the time. If you dont like round reels I would get a Curado 301 (unless you're one of those backward guys lol then a 300) or maybe try one of those new Revo Toros. You want more gear/crank power than what the STX will offer (I have one and a SX so I can attest) in case you get a monster on - plus I like a bigger handle/paddles to work them in. Plus reels with less beefy components will crap out after the repeated beating casting and retrieving swimbaits will give them. (IMO/IME - cardiff) As for the rod its a good one and I know you got the karma thing going lol but I hate how short the Crucial handles are. I would suggest trying out a rod with a longer handle for a trip or two and see if you like it. Depending on your hookset/reeling style it might not work but I really like tucking a long handle under my arm and doing a body sweep set - lots of power even with little travel distance. And there isnt any reason why you could have TWO rods ;D. I have a few customs, some okumas, and my buddy fishes shimanos pretty exclusively and my favorite for big jointed, but not too heavy treble baits like the slammer has been the Rainshadow 967 so far. Real good bend and characteristics. http://www.calfishing.com/reviews/rods/rainshadow_sw967/index.html EDIT: oh u might try the Quantum Cabo for a low-pro with power as well but I hate how it has the button on the side instead of a thumbar.

Round Reel for Swimbaits.
yup the 401 TE is definitely my smoothest swimbait reel - but $$$! I am going to look into a Daiwa Luna if I ever find one for the right price.

Round Reel for Swimbaits.
mechanically the indurons have held up fine after a couple of years for me. Mine needs a clean/lube tho its been making noise but great reel for the price. Not the smoothest but again the price.

Monster Wake Baits
i did really well with the perch wake jr last weekend. After throwing them for a lil while you'll find the wakejr looking small and not so "monster" in no time lol. ive been throwing it on a rainshadow 967 blank that bends really nicely for those trebled baits.

what line for swimbaits
Me 2. I used CX and CXX but I cant stand how it manages even tho its ridiculously strong. I do use big game occasionally as well but it gets changed out often.

OUCH
I took a BBZ swimbait treble to the calf a few weeks ago. Pushed out the hook, debarbed, and kept on truckin til the end of the day! ;D

skipping with revo sx/stx?
Anyone skip their lures with these reels? What settings to you put your magnets at? I have 65 powerpro on my SX for frogs and topwater and 15lb copoly on my stx for other baits. I always get a little bit of overrun on skips if I get them at all without blowing up. Any tips for these particular reels? I can skip big baits with my 300+ size round reels ok but not with these "regular" sized reels lol. thx

Akita swimbaits?
stay away - very poorly made.

Anyone know about this swimbait?
it is a "problem bait" hate to break it to ya. Lot of people have had problems with it running strangely (open mouth adding to that), the paint rubbing off (I had that problem), etc. It has produced fish for people however so if yours fishes ok then it should be ok. I knew the slow sink to be 8" and 5oz but that was what TW listed. that ebay price is pretty much the norm these days.

Tru-Tungsten Matt & Ish True-Life Swimbaits
You think it might be possible that the you've just never seen a big girl in there because your offering hasn't been interesting to them? Tiny ponds hold bigguns allll the time, and are some of my favorite places to throw swimbaits. Not to mention that I catch a lot of 2-4lb class on swimbaits very regularly.

Revo stx-salt?
agreed- if for occasional duty i think it would be fine. Ive used mine in the salt a few times with a thorough rinse afterwards and its been fine.

P-Line Evolution
