Megabass Tequila Baccarac owners.
This rod will throw a 6" and 8" Magdraft, S Waver 168 and 200, A Rigs, 8 and 10XDs, 1.5oz Jackhammers, 3/4oz jigs, 1oz bullet weighted Ol Monster. This rod is plenty sensitive it's not the perfect rod, but it's the most complete do everything pretty dang good. Don't worry about all the b/s you hear from persnickety anglers that have 48 rods used for one technique that are probably collecting dust. Unless you have a bass boat with deep rod lockers, who cares that the rod is slightly moderate. It has a soft tip and bends all the way until the 4th guide and from there it's all backbone. If you were stranded and had one rod that you could throw your entire tacklebox at and catch fish, this is your rod. It does everything.

The Free Rig Spinning Gear or Casting Gear
You don't talk about spinning gear. Clearly the whole preface is about fishing baitcasters on 20lb line near grass. Nice video, but I'm not interested on fishing it on a baitcaster. Texas Rigs belong on MY baitcasters, in my opinion. Free Rigs seem more fairy wand fishing. It's the alternative of a Dropshot after all. Just give me some suggestions. Creature baits, 20lb fluorocarbon, a baitcaster a jig worm rod and a 3/8oz tungsten weight. Got it for baitcasters. Can someone give insight on Spinning gear? Thanks

The Free Rig Spinning Gear or Casting Gear
I've searched and searched for this answer. I'll be brief. It is best on spinning or casting Gear. Give me the following: Spinning: Line Weight of tungsten or lead Lure Casting: Line Weight of tungsten or lead Lure For me I think a finesse Spinning setup works for me, but I'm open to Casting. Give me your .02 on this. Thanks

Finesse Jig Setup?
Megabass Destroyer X Bites 30# Braid and a Daiwa Zillion SV TW 103HS. I like the OSP Hunts Finesse Jig with a Dolive Beaver. Perfect set up.

Favorite spinnerbait brand?
Terminator or War Eagle There is this new to me spinnerbait called Taylor Man's. It has one large blade and 5 kicker blades. It's kind of like an Umbrella Rig. I've killed fish on them.

New Berkley Krej
I'd be interested how it would do from the bank. Since you are reeling uphill, jerking it down to up would be awesome.

Looking for a slightly more powerful and versatile rod than the NRX+893c
Loomis 843C (IMX PRO) for me is as versatile as you can get. I've used a trap, squarebill, Texas rig, swimbait with a 3/8oz flashy swimmer, chatterbait, and spinnerbait.

i'm about 20 bass deep with my new MegaBass X-bites.
I have an X Bites and I'm really trying to like it. I got it used on ALF, the next day went out on my buddy's boat, I set it down and I heard a bone jarring "crunch". He stepped on it between the grip and the butt section. I tried to send it into MB, but because it was used they wouldn't warranty it. So I had to send it to my local rodsmith. He repaired it and even put a hook hanger on it. It wasn't very clean of a repair aesthetically, but it's serviceable and seems to work OK. The action seems to still be there. I use it for a finesse football jig and 3/16 to 1/8 Texas Rig. Caught some fish. I paired it with a Zillion SV TW G 8:5 30lb Braid. I just got a similar NRX+ 854 for Christmas and to me the sensitivity is amazing. I feel like the NRX+ has more feel. Might end up selling the X Bites for a loss the 854 is that good.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
I decluttered my arsenal and wanted to simplify over Christmas, so I sent my unwanted rods and reels to ALF to buy some nicer gear. Been eyeing the G Loomis IMX-PRO 843C for a while. I wanted a good do everything moving bait rod. I paired it with a Zillion SV TW G 7:1. The idea was to see how it felt with several moving baits. Well within a few casts, I got my answer, it does perfect with a chatterbait. The rod has a soft tip and strong backbone. I was able to keep the fish pinned. I recommend this rod to anyone.

G Loomis GLX 854C Input
They're special because of the versatility. If you needed only one rod to empty your tacklebox on, it would be the 844MBR. I prefer the 843MBR, because I love the the 854c for bottom contact. It doesn't get much better than a Biffle head, Mag curly tail worm on a 3/8 tungsten, or 3/8 to 1/2 football head. Awesome Texas Rig rod. 843mbr excels with 1.5 squarebills and 3/8 to 1/2 chatterbaits and spinnerbaits.

GLoomis GLX 844C MBR & 854C JWR
Probably the only 2 rods you'll need baitcaster-wise. I think adding an 852S JWR could quite possibly be the only 3 rods you'd ever need. Throw a jig and worm with the 854c, moving bait with the 844c, and top it off with the 852S for finesse.

G Loomis GLX 854C Input
854C is what you want. I started fishing Dobyns rods. My standard jig rod was the 744. The 854 is very close minus the 4". They both have fast tips and stif all the way through the blank. The beauty about the 854 is I'm a kayaker and bank fisherman, so I don't need a long rod as I'm beating bank and pitching targets.

Ned Rig rod
I think I found it. Shimano Expride B 7'2" Medium Light. The Fury is a good rod for some, I'm wanting sensitivity and a fast tip spongy tip with a decent backbone. Thanks

Ned Rig rod
Looking for a rod that can be a multiple use rod for hairjigs, 3" Spark Shad with Okashira Screw Heads, Hazedong Shads with tiny underspins, but primarily a Ned Rig rod with a little versatility. I was looking into the IMX-PRO 831S NRR. I already have an NRX+ 852S JWR. Not looking to break the bank. $350 is about my budget.

Megabass P5 Windbuster
The Stradic 3000 is money. Just got an 852S NRX+ which is the ultimate finesse rod for me. So many options with it. Perfect rod and reel setup for bottom contact. The Vanford 2500 w/ a Shimano Expride is next on my list.

Megabass Destroyer P5 Tachyon Shaft vs. Megabass Destroyer P5 X-Bites (And Advice About Setups)
The X Bites is a great light soft plastic t rig 1/4 to 3/8oz and finesse jig rod. Great for target casting and shallow water. OSP Hunts Finesse Jigs w/ Dolive Craw is a mainstay on this rod. I grew up in the 90's and this rod reminds me of the first run Castaway that had a lighter tip with a stronger backbone. The Tachyon is a shorter rod with a strong backbone. I just can't see myself using a rod that is 6'7" for bottom contact. The FMJ is more of what you want. Is built to be a bottom contact rod. It has tons of power too. Throw 3/8 to 1/2oz easily. Another Megabass rod, which is considerably cheaper is the Perfect Pitch in the OrochiXX line. Makes a great utility rod as well. The Windbuster is the do everything well from power finesse to drop shoting. When I'm out on my kayak I bring 4 rods Windbuster - finesse Diablo Spec-R - moving baits X-Bites- light Texas Rigs and finesse jigs Perfect Pitch - Utility rod do everything...spinnerbaits, heavier Texas Rigs, Football jigs, 4" Spark Shads. I don't like long rods 7'5" range for kayaks. Even bank fishing with a long rod is cumbersome. Fishing tight places with long hanging branches gets in the way. 7'0 to 7'2 works for me. If I had to pick 5 rods out from Megabass it would be these: Windbuster- Finesse OrochiXX Perfect Pitch - Utility Madbull - Moving Baits X Bites - Light Texas Rigs Finesse jigs FMJ- Heavy Jigs and Texas Rigs

Differences between the new slx150 aand curado 150 mgl
The SLX MGL 150 would out sell any Shimano in that class. Shimano knows it, and therefore won't produce one. The SLX MGL 70 outdoes the Curado MGL 70.

Megabass P5 Windbuster
Would recommend 2500 or 3000?

Megabass P5 Windbuster
I'm bumping up to a 3000. Seeing a bunch at $179. I like 2500s for drop shooting and finesse Zoom Trick Worms on an 1/8oz Shakyhead. I see the Windbuster as more of a power finesse rod 15# braid to 8# fluorocarbon leader. It will hold more line as well.
