  1. Don't forget a thermos of coffee! Nothing quite like warming your fingers wrapped around a mug of coffee while enjoying a day out on the water. Helps heat the core too...
  2. I think you grabbed the wrong address there, bud. The NewYorker has never sold baits to my knowledge....?
  3. He was fishing WAY slower than you were.....or maybe way FASTER.....?
  4. I got my Tackle Warehouse Black Friday email at 9:39 PM Thursday night. At 9:46 selfsame night I had spent $468 after the discounts. You either order early or end up with lots of backorders.
  5. Then, by all means, downgrade your equipment! Post it in the flea market and I'm sure we can increase your "fun" of fishing offshore structure BLIND....
  6. I believe they were all RED eye until this new catalog. I wish they would've just left them all REDEYE shad.....
  7. 12# Trilene BIG GAME. Tough as nails and very forgiving. Cheap as it gets. Doesn't have bad memory issues either.
  8. Sorry, Tackle Warehouse. Never owned one. Done hours of research, however. I tend to think it will work, obviously, since I just dropped 4 big ones on it. But, as with all things, it'll have it's time and place. I've seen too many videos proving it's validity to ignore it anymore. And over a 100 of the Elite Series anglers use one while only a select few are actually sponsored by T-H Marine, the creator of the Hydrowave. That says something as well. So, I bit the bullet and hooked one up. Can't wait to try it out. Especially next spring. I kinda laughed at your question of people thinking it's cheating.. Doesn't that alone attest to it's validity and provide virtual proof that it's legit? Otherwise, who would care if it really didn't work..
  9. A bit of a bump, eh Glen? Ha! A truck bed cap IS a very useful tool when needed.
  10. In case anybody cares: The KVD Hydrowave H2 at TW retails for $454. I got it for $363.20.
  11. As Holmes would say, "Bring your trusty revolver, Dr. Watson, the game is afoot!" I started young and retired early from your profession and moved several hours away after retirement. Working on my second retirement now. Unfortunate to say, you'll never run out of customers.
  12. Wow, awesome story. Affected me so much that I ordered 2 kits from Ancestry. They're on sale, of course. While I don't have any lost siblings I do have a rich history that needs some holes filled. Thanks, @JT Bagwell, for the push.....
  13. If you don't order soon they'll be sold out of the best items. It seems TW is the hottest place to shop this year.
  14. Humminbird Helix Series. You can add/delete options and increase/decrease size to fit your budget. Very user friendly and pretty much waterproof.
  15. Yes! And the color names are even more controversial! The guys at Reaction Innovation have a dark sense of humor, no doubt. Dirty Sanchez
  16. I use the Mustard Fastach snap and never take the split ring off. I always attach the snap above the split ring and have had no issues whatsoever. If anything, certain bait movements may cause the split ring to click against the snap for additional drawing power. depends...
  17. Netbait Mad Paca Creature Bait These are a bit more dense than a Zoom and last much longer yet has excellent action. And they smell like licorice. I love the action and the fit and finish. They come is standard 5" and baby 4". The baby size is my go to creature bait.
  18. The ONLY way I'm experiencing "relaxing, fun fishing" is when I am CATCHING fish!! Otherwise, my brain is working overtime to try to figure out what the green fish want and just how do they want it! While I love the thrill of figuring it out I am definitely too intense with the process to call it relaxing.
  19. I have a Combat Stick and it is perfect for Jackhammers and the like.... It really assists in the hookset and keeping the fish pinned all the way to the boat. It's got a parabolic bend in the tip, but it's also got a lot of backbone to horse fish out of grass. I've really enjoyed fishing it.
  20. With the huge transfer of nearly all of the big time pro's swapping from BASS to MLF it has really opened the doors for some new blood in the realm of sponsors. And with the new format more pro's have a chance of the winning exposure that will show off their new sponsors gear. Win-win for all involved.
  21. The War Eagle Mike McClelland Finesse Spinnerbait is what you're looking for. It's about 2/3 of the normal spinnerbait size and has a smaller hook for finesse applications. I've caught a ton of bass on these. Awesome baits.
  22. These baits will have to really stand out or they will be short-lived, just like internet fame. The price point alone will kill them off unless they are truly game changing, which I really doubt will be the case.
  23. Ditto... I have a medium spinning rod and it is very light with great action. Money well spent. I'll end up getting another, I'm sure.
  24. Yeah, right.... like THAT wasn't gonna happen and IMMEDIATELY.....?
  25. Well, I fished the TM that came on my boat for several years with no issues. The shallow keel on G3 boats make trolling a breeze. You'll be pleasantly surprised how shallow you can troll without running aground. And with your outboard being a 2 stroke you've got much less weight to move. You'll be fine. These boats are tough as nails.
