  1. You're speaking my language! Any reel with that feature has my attention!!
  2. So......why was the block evacuated?
  3. In my experience titanium is used in the wire, tungsten used in the head.....
  4. The Screamin' Eagle comes in a limited color range of skirts. If you care to swap them out to another color use the War Eagle Replacement Skirts. They come 2 to a pack and will slip over the hidden weight family easily with a dab of lube. I love these baits and catch a lot of LMB's on them in cypress lakes. Skirt below is my all time favorite. Sexxy Purple Shad
  5. Already answered.....
  6. Thanks for the link. Very interesting concept. Is the longer hook guard an added benefit to skipping? Do you trim yours back a bit?
  7. In my experience a beaver style trailer works well since the appendages are very large and the bait itself is wide and dense, in essence assisting in keeping the jig skipping along.
  8. Good idea. I'll have to rig one up and give it a go.
  9. This year I have really upped my skipping game and have caught fish that I would've never seen otherwise. Big ones, too. It's been and eyeopening experience that makes me really want to excel at it. Up to this point most of my dock skipping has been frogs. But, I know there are some big fish that won't hit that toad but would suck up a jig dropped in front of them. Here are the questions: What is your favorite brand, weight, size, and style of jig that's easiest for you to skip? Also, what's the preferred trailer on your skipping jig? I've done a forum search to prevent another post about an often repeated topic and couldn't find these particular questions addressed. What say you?
  10. The MegaBass Magdraft is a great option. The 6 inch size fits the weight range you're hunting. If the quarry is full of stuff that'll hang you up there's a freestyle option as well that can be weedless. I use it to skip under docks and low hanging tree limbs. Also, Big Bite Baits has a really good B5 line thru swim bait as well that fits your weights. It comes with a #4 treble hook.
  11. Yes sir. Today. Though I'm skeptical that I'll be the lucky one. I never win anything.
  12. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them, as it's often more of the ACTION imparted to the lure by the angler than the bait itself. That said, I have a box full of walking baits and most of the time end up with a Shower Blows tied on. It's a confidence thing to me.
  13. I totally concur! I have 8 kids to prove it!!
  14. My eyes hurt trying to flip those pics....
  15. In my experience, the Siebert option has little to no affect on the worm movement other than making it move a little faster as it forces the worm down the water column at an increased weight. And with the weight closer to the worm it doesn't act as a counter balance which would kill action. And you lose no strike detection as the fish engulfs the whole thing. YMMV
  16. Siebert Outdoors makes a great one. I like that the weight is positioned a little back from the hook eye. It's also tungsten so the presence is small. https://siebertoutdoors.com/products/ols/products/tungsten-roundball-shaky-head
  17. @IneedAnewScreenName-98161861, since you didn't reply to this question I'm posting it again. This is definitely a thing as I have done it before and it will absolutely kill your ability to cast. Since the bar is basically hidden it's very easy to run your line UNDER this bar. It should be OVER it.
  18. I have 2 of the Lew's Pro SP. The only real factor I have seen that matters is line diameter. On a shallow spool there's a lot of difference in the capacities of 30lb braid and 65lb braid. I fish 30lb Power Pro, if it matters.... The wider the spool the more line it takes. Thus you can cast farther without reducing your spool diameter is fast as a narrow spool.... I guess.
  19. This is one of my favorite colors of the SB-105. The chartreuse back is easier to see.
  20. Don't let reviews hinder you from getting the Jackall Gavacho. This is by far my favorite popping/walking frog. The hookup ratios are amazing. And they are tough as nails. Since they weigh 2/3rd oz you can nearly spool your reel on a bomb cast. I catch hundreds of frog fish every year and this is my favorite frog.
  21. Apparently, you don't see many threads from "dodgeguy"...?
  22. FG Knot Threads Palomar Knot Threads Daiwa vs Shimano Threads (especially when a certain members says, "BUY A LEWS!") Braid to Leader Threads Most Fanboy Threads Seriously, there are so many talented and wise people on here from all walks of life that any thread can get interesting in a moments notice. At this point, most threads are a regurgitation of info that has been discussed ad nauseam thru the years but it never gets old.
  23. Because fishing with wet feet is miserable to me. Especially, when it's cold out.
