Need a GPS system for wifes car
Any suggestions on a GPS system for my wifes car? I am thinking about the voice activated Garmin Navi. It must be very easy to use.

topwater peacock
Nice Pea. Last year, Lake Ida was holding some quality peacocks. It will probably take a few years with above average winter temps to get the numbers back to a decent size population.

S. Fla Guys What's up with these fish?
Same here. I have been working too much to have any free time for fishing. When I have been able to go out, I have been catching mostly dinks. This time of year, I usually fish Alligator alley at first light or late afternoon. I can usually catch some 1-4 lb bass in those canals. Where have you been fishing? Any reports from Holiday Park, Sawgrass, the Fingers, or the Holeylands?

Police Officer Comments
Doug, what kind of SO cruiser do you drive? I got passed by a green hood scooped Hemi PBSO doing about 150 this morning on the turnpike. I didn't mind cause I was doing 85.

Deep South FL fishing. Dade/ Broward County
The last time i went fishing was a couple of weeks ago at the Miami canal off of alligator alley with southfloridabassaddict. We caught mostly 1-3 lb bass using trick worms in the late afternoon. Work has been busy, so I have not had a lot of time to go out. I would bet that night fishing during a full moon would be decent. I tried that a couple of times and had a blast. You really need all of your senses working to compensate for the reduced visual. The skeeters are brutal though. I am looking forward to more free time for fishing starting in October. Should be starting to cool off too.

How would you handle this? (Update. I got it back!)
Without some kind of receipt, you might have been robbed. If the police cannot help, you might have to resort to some type of arm twisting..in a legal sense of course

Thinking of going back to school
If you have the time and money to invest you should do it. Time goes by quickly. The way I see it, with the economy down, you should prepare yourself now. The economy will bounce back.

New Bass Boat?????
Fixed it for ya. U are right about the nitro only the z 9s are top of the line. But the evinrude thing no mercury dominates all Merc's are good as long as its not a XR6(which is what im stuck wit right now) for that reason I would go with(and like to have) either and evenrude or yamaha. Whats wrong with the XR6 If you ever decide to repower to a Rude or Yamahaha, I can take that pathetic xr6 off your hands

New Bass Boat?????
You might want to check out the Allison brand. If I had the bucks, I would choose between Bass Cat, Allison, and Ranger. Take them all for a ride and see what is right for you. Put the largest motor rated for the boat so you will not have any regrets later. Mercury, Evinrude, and Yamaha make a great motors. You can't go wrong with any of them IMHO.

Fires in Russia
Some of my in-laws live in Russia and the fires and smoke have been terrible for them. The worst part has been the combination of a heat wave (90*+)and the fires. Most of the buildings have no air-conditioning due to the short summers and long winters. They rely on open windows for cool air. I am sure the smoke is causing a lot of respiratory problems. I have been to Russia 3X and the folks I met were really nice. I had a great time. Hopefully they will get some rain a cooler temps real soon.

alligator alley
4-5" Swim baits in the deeper canal areas should work too. You will get only a few bites fishing this way, but they will be quality fish.

i am in clear ater florrida for the week where to go bassin ?
You will need to drive down to Miami to have a realistic chance of catching a peacock. You might want to hire a guide so your trip is not wasted. I agree with gar-tracker...fish for snook, grouper, and redfish. There are party boats that head out into the gulf for overnight grouper trips. that might be the ticket.

Hit the window just right
With your regular snook fishing experience, do you feel the snook populations have diminished this year from the winter kill, or are things pretty much normal? It is sad that a fisherman cannot take one home for the table.

Good point. I would like to know that too. By the way, how are you feeling? Did your surgery go OK?

How fast should my boat go
X2 I had a 1984 17 procraft fish and ski with 1984 johnson 115 (actually 90 horse) motor. It ran nice and reliable, but it would not run over 37-38 MPH. You will never see 50 MPH unless you upgrade to at least 150 HP if your hull is rated for it. Just my .02

I played HS football in south florida in the 70's. All we had was water, no gatorade. Just brutal.- Lox Refuge ?s
I work night shift M-F and I get off work at 7:30 AM. I am trying to arrange to get that Tuesday night off before so I can get there at first light. I will probably know a day or two before what my status will be. I am kind of hesitant to make any commitments until I know my schedule. Worse case is that I will have to work and I will arrive at Lox at 9:30 and fish for a couple of hours with you guys.- My 14' Polarkraft Jon Build(UPDATED 7/18/2010)
I would advise trying to keep any additional weight to a minimum. Also, do you plan on installing some additional support to replace the side to side support the bench seats provided? Just my .02- Labron to Miami
It was a publicity stunt. I am sure behind the scenes the was some smack going back and forth between the teams and owners. Mickey Arison just stuck it in the eye of the Cav's owner. The players were just showing off for the fans...and maybe sending a message to the LA team? I thought the whole thing was amusing. - killer football practice
