lox 4-19
I have been going out there since the early seventies. I love the area, so quiet and the fishing can be awesome. I think I will start staying out past sunset. Thanks for the info Kenny.

lox 4-19
The gate at Lox(Lox Rd) used to be locked at sundown. Are they leaving it open or are you guys staying out there all night?

Why I don't like messing with electrical stuff.
Could be right, but you might want to also check your discharge terminal orifice or your current flow electrode.

banjo minnows
I gave my Banjo set to a couple of kids that fish the canals in my area. They have actually caught some bass and bream with them.

lake istokpoga
Nice job on Sunday. I like istopoga a lot, just a bit of a drive. In the southeast corner, there is supposed to be a shell bed between the island and shore, I have been there 2x and still have not found it (rough conditions). The flood control gate area in the south has been good to me in the past, as have been the pad fields near Henderson's cove. How's the Ranger?

Florida fish consumption
I know some folks that eat the bass and speck's all the time from Lake O and other spots. They seem to be in good health. Some of the data does not make sense to me. Lake Ida and Osbourne in Boca Raton must be loaded with fertilizers and yard pesticides, yet the fish there are less harmful than the fish caught at Loxahatchee or in some areas of the Everglades national park? I guess common sense applies and don't take chances, especially with your children.

new boat
It is probably propped for top end. You sacrifice a little bit of acceleration and hole-shot. Try tucking the motor down more on take off. If that doesn't solve it, maybe you might want to try a different type of prop with less pitch. What are you WOT RPM's with this current prop? That might indicate whether you are over-propped.

new boat-nice fish-great day
The big ones are there, they are just not always cooperating. I was casting up against bull rushes. I got all of my fish saturday in a large cut on the north side. The bass were holding at the points in between the coves. It changes all the time out there.

new boat-nice fish-great day
I went out to Lox Saturday 12 - 3pm and caught 6 bass 2-3 lb average using the houdini colored skinny dipper. I lost a biggun (pullin like a tractor) that took me from the bow to the stern of my 373 Ranger before the hook came out. I also caught 2 more using a basspro natural shiner colored paddle tail swim bait. The action was so/so on that bait..no slot for the hook like the skinny dipper. It was spinning a lot, I need to try some different type of hook. I was fishing a half mile west of the western bend and on the north side. The water was really clear and free of weeds. I really nice day and I am definitely heading to that area again next weekend.

LOX ????
Nice one. I caught a similar sized chain pickerel last year at Lox. The colors on the CP's are really cool. Looks like I might be going out there this Friday afternoon...

No Bass? Try Sailfish...
The Fish City and the Helen S are owned by the same people. They both are well run with good experienced mates. The Helen S is a little nicer looking boat with bench seating, the Fish City boat has individual seats. The thing about fishing from the Hillsboro inlet is that the boats are docked right next to the inlet, and the fishing is literally minutes away. No long boat rides down the intra-coastal. During Dolfin season, some guys carry an extra pole with a crank bait or jig and they will set you up with the school at the back of the boat. They definitely try to put you on the fish.

No Bass? Try Sailfish...
On the day we went out, there was about 12 or so fishermen waiting for the captain. The boat was the Fish City out of Hillsboro inlet. When he arrived all he could say to us was...man, you guys are hard core! Out of the 12 fisherman, only me and 2 others were not chumming the fish, or passed out inside the cabin. It was a tough experience, and I wont do it again. The boat was rocking 45* ...the deck would literally fall away if you were trying to move around. Our baits were probably bobbing up and down on the bottom. On our way back in, that 70+ foot boat seemed like it was surfing the swells. The hillsboro inlet is treacherous too, but the captain was excellent handling the boat. We surfed in, and made a hard 90* right to enter the inlet. You definitely want to know where you life vest is located.
