  1. Guide, the problem with that one, and any other that mounts to the troller is when on spot lock, it’ll wrap the cable up tight to the trolling motor. I just know one of these times it’s going to go too far and damage the cable. I like having it up front so I can monitor what’s right under me. I think I’ve found a solution, via u tube that uses a ram mount and pvc pipe. Thanks for replying.
  2. Guide, I only have a front unit for sonar plus side and down up front. Would love FFS but that will never be in my limited budget. Managing the cable on the Terrova is a PITA . That’s why I’m considering a separate mount.
  3. I’m looking for a stand alone, retractable bow mounted transducer mount. It’s not for FFS ( at the moment) just for normal sonar/down/side imaging transducer. Anyone have one they recommend?
  4. Like Mike said, here in Florida, we fish junk, thick nasty junk. A lot of times we have 3-4 lbs of weeds on any bass. Go big or go home ?
  5. Probably 50, but like some others,I fish multiple species. Plus I fish saltwater too( both inshore and offshore). The fishing club I’m in has 6 tackle categories: fly, ultra light(4#test), spinning (10#test), baitcasting, light general (20# test max) and general (up to 80#test). It’s not hard to get to 50 outfits.
  6. Cast, not enough space for the old Elite12 gen 1 so considering a 7 or 9” that’s compatible to the Live.
  7. Tenn, you’re probably correct, it’s just something I read. Networking would better and a lot easier. Not sure yet, just speculating at the moment. I have a HDS Live 12 as my single unit. I don’t need another unit but have an older 12 unit to sell or trade so that’s where the thought of a additional unit came in.
  8. That’s kinda what I’m thinking. Both are/would be Lowrance units.
  9. Tenn, I read online that they could share, via a y cable, but only one unit could use the ducer at a time. That’s one of the reasons I asked. Guide, it’s more to get a chart on one unit and sonar/side/down on the other. If I add one, and that’s a big if, it would be mainly for the chart.
  10. Are you running separate transducers or sharing a common one?
  11. Loved fishing the glades when I grew up down there. Moved to central Florida in 84 so a lot of the exotics weren’t established yet. We did catch Oscar’s some back then. 100 fish days were common the right time of year.

  13. There was an old Florida joke that your rod was called a “ Florida depth finder”. If you couldn’t touch bottom with you rod, you needed to go shallower.
  14. Sent you a pm tx.
  15. Thank you Allen. That’s what I was looking for.
  16. Z, your pictures and posts take me back to another time in my life. Grew up fishing the glades, alley and canals back in the late 60’s & early 70’s. Those are impressive fish for down there for sure. Great work bud.
  17. I’ve seen nothing about this on the 2 FB Headwaters groups I’m on. As far as carry, if you fish some of the out of the way places I have, you’d be a fool not to. Just driving to some lakes will take you down roads that if you were to break down, you’d be at the mercy of whomever drove by. I’m not putting myself in that situation without protection.
  18. Be interesting to see which guide it was. Do you have a link?
  19. I’m interested in what actual paint colors guys are using to paint their baits. Don’t know if I made that clear.
  20. What colors do you guys feel are essential ones to have for painting cranks, jerks or topwaters? And any personal preferences too. Thanks
  21. Phil, I have one like that and a bleeding shiner in the same condition.
  22. Agree. According to Marty Stone, Chris would have won in the old format based on his total weight of fish caught.
  23. WOW, what a finish!!!!
  24. Love the ending with Andy catching the 6.3 with 30 seconds left ?
